She chants
A death chant
{I cant feel}
She whispers
The words over
In my ear
Claps her hands together
In eighth notes and rests.
My whole life has been
Rests
Notes
Played on end
In 2/4 time.
She whispers the words
{I’m going to kill you
So you think about that the next time
Your heartbeat is silenced}
In my ear
I don’t hear.
I cant hear
They cant be true
{the words don’t exist}
If I don’t hear.
She whispers
My mind believes
But my veins still collapse
And I still smile.
The smile is through the pain
And the pain is washed away
With a cold injection
Of numbness and
Fake smiles
{I feel so hollow}
She claps her hands together
In rhythms of
Twos and fours
Eighth note, rest, quarter note, rest.
Chanting a death chant.
I’ve crossed the border
Too many times
And the chant still chimes on. |

I think you ended it well enough in my opinion. It was like a sickeningly sad melody you don't want playing in your head, but you can't help going back to it.
