The plight of my car:
I was driving out to J's and my car started to overheat big time. The overheating light went on, as did the check engine light. I made it to Ontario Mills, let the car cool for 10 minutes and it was still hot when I started it again. I ended up going to Ontario VW where they kept the car overnight and replaced the water pump. Normally this would not be so frustrating however I just had a 40,000 mile tune up which is pretty much the works, done on 4/16 of which they failed to notify me that my brakes were bad. I complained and got a free inside front brake job. The same day the water pump goes. Strange. Also strange...Riverside VW told me "you're warranty has expired." Ontario VW however was able to find my warranty and apparently it is not expired. I have to call on Monday and see exactly what is going on with the warranty and see when it actually expires.
Recreational Activities:
I was introduced to Dungeon's and Dragons yesterday. It is something I never thought I'd be doing. I am going to give it another go because 1) we did not have that much time to really get into it besides character building for two new players and 2) someone brought their insanely stupid girlfriend who is dumb as nails. I could not stand her! If everyone got a litle more serious about playing I think it could have been really fun so that is my goal for next time. Probably going to be at least two weeks away though.
Decision Making 101:
I made a decision. I am not sure it is going to be a good one in the long run or if it suits me to a tee, but it is a decision I made. I am going back to school. I am going back to RCC norco to finish up 4 classes that I need as prerequisities: Anatomy and Physiology 2A and 2B, Chemistry 2A, and Microbiology 1. If I can get into two of the classes over summer, it will only take me until the end of the spring to finish. Then, I am going to apply to the Nursing program and RCC Riverside. Yes, NURSING. I know, I know. But just consider this. It's a lot of hands on stuff, blood and guts, and it's only 1 year taking 1-2 classes a term. I only need 6 days of work per month to make my bills and if I can save a little between now and then as long as I work a couple days I can pull from that as a reserve and put my focus back on school. Once completed I'll be ready to take the RN exam and starting pay with absolutely no experience as an RN is $30-32/hr with excellent benefits since it's the med field. Most hospitals have new grad programs as well. Plus I would get paid more for having a BA degree already. It will give me financial stablity in about 1.5-2 years from now. Hopefully the housing market is not back up to unreasonable by then and I can buy a house and get some of my freedom and life back. I have to admit, I'm really excited so I hope this works out.
No...tell don't ask....it WILL work out! :)
