 The NFL Thanksgiving Turkey
With several various aromas floating in the air around my house including turkey seasonings being roasted, squash soup being whipped, and pumpkin seeds being toasted and burned (all the food can't turn out perfectly), I began to think about what I had to be thankful for. I know I should have been being thankful for all that I have in life BEFORE Thanksgiving but we all get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life sometimes and it's not before we're forced to think that we do. But I digress, what I'm most thankful for in life right now is the NFL Thanksgiving Turkey. Yes, that somewhat terrifying creature that looks like a robotic turkey in a full metal jacket with a helmet on its head that prances across the screen acting "tough". A somewhat random thing to be thankful for, but I mean it on a much deeper level of course. That creepy turkey brings my family together on the couch from all up and down the coast (which coast I will never tell Wink) and makes us laugh, reminisce, and share new stories. It allows us to experience the delightful cooking of my mother and grandmother and it makes me thankful that we have not only a home to celebrate in, but food to put on the table as well. It reminds me that I have a loving family who will always be there for me when I need them and most of all that I have it as good as it gets and although I ask for more, nothing could compare to what I have now. No matter what situation or condition your life is in, always be thankful for what you have even if its being alive and being able to experience one more day breathing in the crisp fall air. Things may seem awful at times, we've all been through the lows, but when you're at the bottom, the only way to go isĀ up! A somewhat short entry today, I'm finally at my home computer so I can upload my old, high school "journal entries" hopefully after this so that I can dedicate all my attention tomorrow to my favorite day of the year: Black Friday!! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
