well its been a week since i was destroyed and told to leave my house, daughter and so called wife behind, the thousand thought have made me rethink things all over again. the thought of not seeing my daughter do everything from laugh to cry has made me feel the hurrible thoughts that i never wanted to think, the thought of someone else being called daddy by my daughter has made me want to just die, there are a thousand dreams that i have left unforfilled and will never hapen, i know these are just the stepps that happen but how do people get through these. i am an emotional wreck. the thought of my daughter calling someone else daddy is killing me....... |

Ive been there to, my brother.two bits of advice, stay away from alcohol, it did not help my case, and secondly you make sure she doesn't want to call anybody else daddy, by making her your main priority and by being a yes man with your wife, it will help with access and stuff, best of luck

Your post just struck a cord with me. My parents are divorced. Don't think you would ever lose your daughter to another man, that someone else could ever be her dad, that anyone will ever fill that place in her. Just be there for her, love her and don't let anything between you and her mother get in between you and your daughter. The bitter parent is the parent that loses. My mother was bitter and cold. I live with my dad. I love my dad more than anything, he is my rock in life and no matter what I will never call anyone else dad. No one else could ever deserve that name.
Just don't make the mistake of trying to be the 'cool' parent, it won't work. Be a proper father, teach her well, and you could never lose that special bond between father and daughter :) good luck
