Music is a huge part of my life. I have yet to meet a person who doesn't like music. I am a singer songwriter, with 2 records and have a Music Business Diploma. So music is huge. God has blessed me with a great gift to write and play music. The gift of music is such a blessing because it has been created by God. At the same time everything that God has created man has found some way to destroy it. What happened to good music? I have heard some really bad bands/artists write perverse lyrics and live perverse life styles. Music can be uplifting and encouraging or it can be destructive. People say it doesn't influence you but I know in my life music moves you, it changes your emotions. It can make you feel good, depressed, angry, sad, happy it changes your mood. Lyrics are a huge part of that. This isn't an attack against bad music, but to realize that it affects our lives and the way we feel. I have been to clubs around town and to see people dance to the most disgusting lyrical content I have ever heard it is just ridiculous. I can't believe people are listening to these degrading lyrics. If they dance to the song they are degrading themselves because they are in support of that artist. I don't know anymore I hope there is a huge turn around in the music industry. I hope people realize that there is more to music. I am done raging.

It always seems to be rap that people are dancing like that to, though...
I agree, CERTAIN people change due to the way music sounds. But, some music can have really "emo-ish" lyrics, but turn out to be really good songs. For example: Starfire by Dragonforce. Go ahead, look up the lyrics. It seems really bad, doesn't it? Now find the song and listen to it. It's actually a really peaceful song! So, I half agree with your statement. But, mainly, I think it's kind of like this statement:
You can dress up a leopard, but that doesn't make it any less of a beast.

Don't quit raging yet, encourageable hulk:P Ugh, young people(leers above). It's the whole beat thing. Some people are just zombies to it. It's going with the trance. I am very much victim to music. Like the sirens of old tales. But, I get angry if affected by a song I do not choose to be. And, so many songs I hear are about sad feelings, sexual addictions or broken hearts/relationships. Now, maybe this helps relate to the larger audience--which is ALSO kinda sad--but I don't care to listen to it. Now, I also realize that when it comes to personal listenning, everyone is pushing MP3 while I cling to my old-fashion headset. But, I don't care. You can't have that control when you are somewhere else:P It's out there; the good and the bad. Just waiting to annoy those living with the oxygen masks labelled MP3. Somedays, though, it feels like suffocation when I find so many songs I DON'T like and a handful that get me pumped. I rely on that few to energize me. No matter if I try to fill a digital player or take my headset, the selection that pleases me is so pathetic in number(as do so many of the radio commercials:P).
