| Whats in a Name? |
I like to name my handknitted handbags. Sometimes the name is really easy and other times I have to think about it and ask my friends and families for suggestions. The danger in asking others for suggestions is that family member and friends can become quite surly when you don’t use the name they give it. So you only ask for help when it is absolutely necessary.
I get ideas for naming my handknitted handbags from a lot of different sources. Sometimes the way it looks or the yarn you have used will give you an instant name and other times you need something more exotic. My favorite brand of nail polish is OPI and they have wonderful names for each color of polish. My favorite right now is called Royal Flush Blush and some of the other names I remember are Dancing down the Aisles, Moon over Mumbai, and Chocolate Shakespeare. I don’t know how they create them but they are original and fun. I try to keep that in mind when I name a handbag.
