| Make it Fit! |
About ten years ago I had walked into a yarn shop and saw a beautiful pink sweater with mohair and ribbon yarns that I just had to knit. I bought the yarn and knitted the sweater. Even though I had knitted the right size it just didn’t fit the way I wanted it to fit. The shoulders were too big and the waist too small. I never did wear it and finally gave it to Goodwill hoping someone would be able to wear it. It was an expensive lesson to learn and now I knit things that are not intended to fit especially the knitted handbags.
Recently, I subscribed to a newsletter that is issued three times a week. It is called “Knitting Daily” and is written by Sandi Wiseheart. This is an internet newsletter and can be found at knittingdaily.com. It is well written and you can tell that she actually knits because she shares her projects with you. She recently had a series of letters about making a sweater fit. I have decided to try knitting a sweater again. I have ordered the yarn and when I finish the sweater I will let you know how it works.
