Revelations @ Flat Rock or 9 out of 10 Speeding
Revelations @ Flat Rock or 9 out of 10 Speeding Deaths Occur on Corners.

Outside of the psychological, emotional, spiritual or even intellectual we humans only need two things to ensure our individual survival. They are shelter and sustenance.

The folding tool kit masquerading as a pocket knife is not necessary at all. Nor is the LED that fits with a band to the forehead. Although it conveniently illuminates where ever you may point your head, if it's in range of course. No, it's just another piece of junk to carry around or leave collecting dust in a cupboard somewhere. Although I have to admit if they ever invent a light that shines on what ever your eyes are viewing, again, within range of course, then I may change my mind.

However there remains only two critical elements for most people. Which brings me to a second group. The members of which require three. This third element I shall call 'Locomotion.' When I invoke this term, 'Locomotion,' there is an awful lot to which I am definitely not referring. For example, I am not referring to the mundane minutiae of raising from a lounge chair to retrieve another can of beer from the refrigerator in the kitchen, only to retrace those steps, even if via the bathroom, back to the lounge chair, to continue what ever occupation. A reason for this particular exclusion, although not the only one, is that any ordinarily equipped individual will quite quickly comprehend that the refrigerator can be moved to a position within convenient reach of that lounge chair. Inversely both the lounge chair and any other necessary appliance such as a TV could be relocated to the kitchen. It may be worthwhile noting here that Bed-sits and Studio Apartments do not suffer from this multi room dilemma. No! On further reflection, it does not require noting that at all.

There are a myriad , possibly even almost an infinite number of such exclusive instances. Usually each instance has multiple reasons justifying exclusion from the term 'Locomotion', when applied with my intended meaning.

The minimum requirements for 'Locomotion' to occur are the same as that which the mundane varieties of movement require. That is, the ability to move through and or about some lateral environment in a lineal manner. Simply, a functioning set of legs or a serviceable wheel chair.

In an effort to limit my natural tendency towards verbosity, I will cut to the chase. Before qualifying how I wish to apply the term 'Locomotion' in the previously noted context I shall give a very short preface. I wish to draw any readers attention to the worthwhile as well as irrelevant point of, the frequency of incidence. This point, simultaneously worthwhile and irrelevant is that there are precious few who qualify for inclusion into this second group.

'Locomotion' does not in any way refer to the mundane daily, repetitive movements around and about this planet. I have silently added a new idea, in fact, it's the notion of the 'New'. 'New' is a tacit imperative closeted within each application of it's usage in the afore mentioned sense.

The effect that this implied or connoted imperative, 'New' has on the term 'Locomotion' is significant. It means that once the lounge chair has been departed, a resting place can not be taken up unless the movee has not rested in that location previously. The very least requirement of the movee is that they do not remember ever taking up the said resting place on any previous occasion.

Some people may think that this would automatically include those people who are suffering the effects of dementia. Those souls among us with this debilitating condition would also forget to eat, drink or seek shelter and rapidly deteriorate to quickly expire. Out of charity I have excluded most of them. However it does not automatically exclude all of these individuals. The few are to be found among the portion of people who, for apparently no medically discernible reason die soon after being incarcerated in a dementia ward or some other such asylum.

This tragic state of affairs brings me to a side issue for me. Which is, if I should live long enough to contract and suffer this horrid ailment, some angel among you would earn my eternal gratitude if you were to remind me to top myself. Thanks in advance. But please wait until the time has arrived. No points for early calls.

Another function of the implication of the 'New' as an imperative in the now heavily laboured term 'Locomotion' is the unending search for that which evaporates with each successive completion of the quest. Thus necessitating a further or additional quest be launched when the loci of each satisfaction either proves unsuitable for continued habitation or the welcome has been thoroughly worn out, or as some prefer to say 'The fish has started to smell'. This later metaphor proving particularly appropriate for me, as I carry remnants of that specific odor with me to each new place of rest. Thus requiring a sooner departure than could otherwise be expected.

Sadly the manifestations of Sisyphus, as the ancient Greeks were patently aware, are many and various, always singular and always personal. A note here to those who may judge my use of singular and personal as a further example of my inadvertent inclusion of a tautology. Please refrain for a moment from such a precipitous conclusion and consider a while longer.

So, Adieu. At least until my memory starts to really let go of the reins, when you know what you have to do.

Calm, This is all made up junk. It was an attempt to smash through some blockage. At best it could be seen as stream of consciousness put through spell check. Please take none of it either seriously or literally. This commenting on your own blog is just so not cool. No wonder I'm liking it.

Oh I'll look after the messy details. I will just require reminding to do it.

This was an occasionally amusing ramble through the English language; which is, I might add, an unusual place to go rambling.

I'm delighted that you visited and found some skerik amusing.
I am simultaneously distraught that you only found it occasionally amusing.
However I am totally perplexed why you haven't asked for my phone number so you could ring when it becomes patently obvious that I have permanently misplaced my mind.
Don't you care Steve?

Of course I care; but I would not dream of interfering. Someone once told me that the only fault they could find in me was that I was too lassiez faire.

Surely not! I think you have quite an interventionist agenda. Especially when organised religion raises it's ugly heads.

Some people need the novelty of constant change like the rest of us need food. These are the explorers, the pioneers, the trappers, the hermits of the world.

I like your tattoo idea.

You could if porn, prostitution, pot and historic, small buildings that front a canal were of interest.
