| Day 6 of no smoking |
So today is day 6!
YESSSSS. Day 5 was hard. I started crackin out on smokes late in the day but I was conscious of it and worked VERY hard to not be a crank stanker to my kids or my wife. :) I think I succeeded.
However, here's what I learned:
Smoking sucks. It has controlled 60% of my life thus far. And there's a lot of room for self battery and getting bummed out about that shit, but no this isn't the point. The point is to be healthy and to be there when my children grow up, get married, have kids, etc (any parent's dream right?)
Quick background: I'm an old raver, did my fair share of drugs, all that. Well I've been drug free for over ten years, but never kicked this smoking habit. When kids came around I took in my fair share of 'sympathy' weight gain. At peak I was pushing 250... I'm tetering 200 at the moment, and in the last 2 years it's been a fundamental change in how i eat and my activity level. I could stand to be more active, maybe even hit the gym.
But coming from a computer guy who can spend WAY too much time online as it is... who eats in the front seat far too often... shit had to change.
My family can attest, I eat healthy now and I even eat my veggies!!! and LIKE THEM... except mushrooms because that's just fucked up to eat mushrooms even the fun ones yuck. Who wants to eat shit growing off of decay... THAT sounds like NO fun. Sure world cuisine showcases mushrooms but i still maintain that is NASTY.
A guy has to have limits right?
That said: The next logical step in being a better healthier person... is to quit smoking.
MY GOD: My smeller is working better already... I can smell smokers already! hahaha Ice Cream tastes like shit. Chocolate tastes like shit. Food is pretty much nasty at this point for me, which i know is temporary but hopefully won't last long... I ate a bowl of edimame last night and that was still yummy thank god.. Plus all those bean sprouts opening them with my lips and teeth helped. :D :D Not sure if it helped me crack out about smoking last night or not but it sure was satisfying!!!
I've never done any sort of video blogging before, and I want to try it out. I think it'd be cool to show how this patch gets applied IN REAL LIFE. Reading the directions is nice and all, but we all know PRACTICE and REALITY have a better applicable function... SO maybe here in the next day or so I'll do that.
OK, enough for now. Work calls. Day 6 here i come. Lesson from day 5 for day 6. Don't drink 44oz mtn dews. Drink a 12oz one. It's OK. You don't need to OD on caffeine and walk around like that baby on the ceiling in trainspotting... (u get 500 points if you know what i'm talking about)
