I’ve had a couple days of doing pretty much whatever I want, which is nice considering how crazy everyone tells me it’s about to get. I’m not gonna lie, there have been times when I was bored, but I’ve (mostly) been productive and finished some minor projects I had going. We finally joined this century and had our cable at our place upgraded to digital cable, including Time Warner’s DVR, which has its pluses and minuses after using it for the last couple days. I hate that I can’t search for programs by keyword, but the image quality is much better than what the old DVR computer I had going was putting out. And hopefully Adam will be satisfied with it, since he suffered with the trials of the old system. So it’s a good thing.
The shoulder continues to improve, and I even ventured out to the gym the other day for the first time since early July. The medication seems to be working along with a steady diet of ice packs. The gym wasn’t the best idea in the world, as the shoulder was sore the day after, but it’s getting to the point where it doesn’t hurt while it’s not in use, which is a major step forward. I’m still shooting for a late August return to basketball, since our next men’s league starts in early September, and my shot is beyond rusty. I’m hoping to start lifting weights in earnest over the next few days, but I want the shoulder to improve beyond the 75% or so that it’s at right now.
My cell phone gasped its last breath the other night when I dropped her in a cup of soda. My eyes went wide as the screen flickered and then shut off, and I realized that death may have been upon us. I’ve been able to turn it on briefly, but it usually shuts itself down shortly thereafter. I’m going to try again tomorrow just to see if I can get my phone numbers and pictures off of there. In retrospect, I should have been backing those things up the whole time, but whatcha gonna do.
