It's turning into a lazy Sunday!
Well, I have successfully been into town and navigated the transport there and back without a problem, yay!  Things are starting to make more sense now, and getting from A to B is definately less of a chore!

I miss having a car so much more here than I did when I was lving in India.  Well no, I guess I haven't had a car for more than a year and coped fine, so what I miss is having a taxi driver I can just call up and get to come and collect and drop me wherever, whenever.  Today walking around the mall I had to be so carefuly how much stuff I picked up, so that I would be able to get int all home on the bus, what a pain!!  What a crazy town I live in without any tuk tuks or taxis!  Yes, we have motorbike taxis all over the place, but if I cant carry it on the bus, I cant balance it on the back of a bike with me either!  I wonder if I will end up getting my own scooter, then at least I have the seat compartment space and handle bars!  But then there is the issue of getting a Thai drivers licence, which sounds like a ball ache, so probably not!

I was thinking about heading back into town again later to pick up some more stuff, but honestly don't think that is going to happen, it'll wait until tomorrow now!  I think Im going to spend this afternoon napping and watching the TV while I wait for the football at 9pm my time, come on united!!  I do need to pop to the local shop for more water, and I will at some point write a big long list of all the things I need to do at some point.  Now I have most things organised that I need to be immediately comfortable, but there is still lots of little bits and pieces that I need to do to be really settled.

I managed to top up my phone, but have since phoned my Mum and spent all my credit, doh!  I was damn expensive, about a fiver for a fifteen min conversation, so another thing i need to work out is international phone cards!  I will put on some more credit when i buy water.

I still need to write my emails and do my Thai learning.  I did buy lots of coloured paper, so I am going to make lovely flash cards to help me learn!

Just having a lazy SUnday issue though, I have been out done what needed doing and now want to do just nothing.  I think I'm maybe putting a brave face on loneliness.  I can't wait until more western teachers arrive, and until one of the Thai's in our team moves apartments to one in my building, so I have people close by to hang around with.  I'm spending far too much time in this room watching TV, but its the easy option, and I do want the batteries recharged for next week at work!

OK, enough ramble for now...............

I did the same thing my first time out of the States. Alot of TV time alone just trying to catch my breath...but you have been in India as well. Different country, but second time around(or more) in terms of new pad for you.

Oh, could you stop writing in purple on blue?:P I have to highlight everything.

How frightful it is to think of having to BUY water everywhere I go instead of a simple faucet or the OLDE fashion way of going to a river or lake and maybe boiling it first. As for toting the loads home, I am not aware if Thailand is anything like Chicago or Rome, but if it is unbearably hot for walking yet things are in walking distance, take smaller trips more frequently and monitor time of day/weather. If you have to get up early or head out after sunset to beat the heat... If you have to go before/after work and just get a few things at a time... I dunno, just ideas.
