The state of a couple’s sex life is often a barometer of their relationship in general. When they are happy, sexual relations between them are good, but when problems occur in other areas of their life, their sex life often suffers too. This is because sex is a form of communication, and any difficulties we have in relating emotionally to each other are magnified by the physical intimacy of sexual union. However, it is also precisely because sex is the most intimate form of physical communication that it is the ideal vehicle through which to express love for our partner.

At the start of a relationship, when your levels of intimacy and commitment increase, the need to make love decreases and your sex life settles down. You may feel that the passion has gone, but in reality you are simply adjusting to each other’s natural libidos. This is a good time to embark on a journey to explore each other’s sensuality and learn how best to fulfill each other’s sexual needs.

A useful way to start is to make regular dates to spend intimate time together say, a couple of hours once or twice a week. You need to ensure that you will have total privacy, so try to arrange your dates to coincide with times when other members of the household will be out. Don’t feel that you have to make love in these sessions – the idea is to spend time getting to rediscover each other sexually in whatever ways feel most comfortable. You might like to talk, say, about past sexual experiences or what turns you on; or you might prefer to start the date by kissing and caressing each other tenderly and see where this touching leads you; or, again, you might wish to look at a sex manual or watch a sex video together, and talk about the positions and techniques they demonstrate. This will help you find a way to speak about your sexual desires. The more you learn about how to please each other, the more satisfying your sex life will become.

As you build up trust and physical intimacy, you can gradually introduce new elements into your love-making. Why not ask a favor of each other next time you have sex – you could ask your partner to give you a massage or to share their most erotic fantasy with you. Remember, whatever you choose to do, always approach sex with tenderness so that “making love” is a literal description of what you do together sexually.

After living what I felt was a "decent" life, my time on earth came to the end. The first thing I remember is sitting on a bench in the waiting room of what I thought to be a courthouse. The doors opened and I was instructed to come in and have a seat by the defense table.

As I looked around I saw the "prosecutor." He was a villainous looking gent who snarled as he stared at me. He definitely was the most evil person I have ever seen. I sat down and looked to my left and there sat My Attorney, a kind and gentle looking man whose appearance seemed so familiar to me, I felt I knew Him.

The corner door flew open and there appeared the Judge in full flowing robes. He commanded an awesome presence as He moved across the room. I couldn't take my eyes off of Him. As He took His seat behind the bench, He said, "Let us begin."

The prosecutor rose and said, "My name is Satan and I am here to show you why this man belongs in hell." He proceeded to tell of lies I told, things I stole, and in the past when I cheated others. Satan told of other horrible perversions once in my life and the more he spoke, the further down in my seat I sank. I was so embarrassed, I couldn't look at anyone, even my own Attorney, as the Devil told of sins even I completely forgotten about. As upset as I was at Satan for telling all these things about me, I was equally upset at My Attorney who sat there silently not offering any form of defense at all. I know I was guilty of those things, but I did some good in my life - couldn't that at least equal out part of the harm I'd done?
Satan finished with a fury and said, "This man belongs in hell, he is guilty of all I have charged and there is not a person who can prove otherwise."

When it was His turn, My Attorney first asked if He might approach the bench. The Judge allowed this over the strong objection of Satan, and beckoned Him to come forward. As He got up and started walking, I was able to see Him in His full splendor and majesty. I realized why He seemed so familiar; this was Jesus representing me, my Lord and my Savior.

He stopped at the bench and softly said to the Judge, "Hi, Dad," then He turned to address the court. "Satan was correct in saying this man sinned, I won't deny any of these allegations. And, yes, the wage of sin is death, and this man deserves to be punished."

Jesus took a deep breath and turned to His Father with outstretched arms and proclaimed, "However, I died on the cross so this person might have eternal life and he accepted Me as his Savior, so he is Mine."

My Lord continued with, "His name is written in the Book of Life and no one can snatch him from Me. Satan still does not understand yet. This man is not to be given justice, but rather mercy."

As Jesus sat down, He quietly paused, looked at His Father and said, "There is nothing else that needs to be done. I've done it all."

The Judge lifted His mighty hand and slammed the gavel down. The following words bellowed from His lips... "This man is free. The penalty for him was already paid in full. Case dismissed"

As my Lord led me away, I could hear Satan ranting and raving, "I won't give up, I will win the next one."

I asked Jesus as He gave me my instructions where to go next, "Have you ever lost a case?" Christ lovingly smiled and said, "Everyone that comes to Me and asked Me to represent them, received the same verdict as you, "PAID IN FULL."
Why are alcoholics always in denial?

Why are alcoholics always in denial?

Let’s begin by stating this one simple fact, “alcohol is an addictive drug.” Yet so many of our young people as well as adults, abuse this drug as though it will do no harm to their bodies are their minds. They say, just a little drink, why not? I can handle it. Yet when the damage is done, they are in complete denial that they ever done anything wrong. They even go so far as to say that they don’t remember what happen when they awaken. What they said or what they done. They have a complete memory lost when it comes to their actions after they have had a drink and a good time was had or so they thought.

Now the alcoholic will say, “Having a drink is my own business.” Indeed it is! At least up to a point. Then it becomes the business of all of us who have to endure the suffering after the alcoholic has committed the damage, and that damage can be very serious at times.

They say, "I’m just a moderate drinker." When does moderate drinking develop into intemperance? You can go to any rescue mission and hear the same story over and over. The person had money, prestige, a good job, a fine family, but then all at once, or so it seemed, he was on the skids. It all started with a little drink that “won’t hurt.” The very thing that had made him friends had turned on him and had caused his ruination. The biblical warning, “Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise” (Proverbs 20:1), had now been proven in his own life. And the drink demon had not been satisfied until the victim hit bottom.

Many traffic accidents are caused by those whose judgment has been impaired by alcohol. My friend Mary hadn’t drunk much; she could still drive her car. She did, and forced another car into the path of an oncoming truck. The result: four cars piled up, six people dead, a whole family wiped out. Mary went free, walked away from the carnage unhurt except for the responsibility.

Dr. Samuel, a minister on his way to a mission, was driving his car on the right side of the freeway. Then, without warning, a car came hurtling through the snow flurry, head-on, killing him, his wife, and a passenger, and injuring their little son for life.

So it’s your own business if you drink? Well, that’s what thousands of drinking drivers say. The victims of such drivers think differently at least those who are still able to think.

It’s your own business if you drink? What about a wife, a husband, uncle, aunt, friends, children? How much abuse, neglect, shame, and insecurity do they suffer when you drink? Many a promising relationships have been wrecked as a result of alcohol.

The one thing that keeps coming up over and over and that is what you say. You say you can quit anytime you want to. You are sure you will quit before you plunge too deeply. But yet you continue down the same dangerous path. What will be the end results? When an alcoholic continue to be in denial of the very fact they do really have a problem and they can handle it own their own disaster is just around the corner.

This Memorial Day weekend, let us all take notice of what we do and how we do it. The life you save just might be your very own. Drinking and driving is no laughing matter. Take notice of the people you are with, because in reality we are our brothers keeper. Here today, gone tomorrow. What will the life of those that you love so wholeheartly be like when you can't control yourself after having just one little drink? Sure it made you feel good for the moment, but what about the one person or maybe two that will not make it back home this memorial day weekend, because you decided to take that one little drink and drive???

Alcholic is a dangerous drug. Wake up and smell the roses. Tomorrow just might be to late.

May God bless each one of you for a great holiday weekend.
and worth far more than diamonds.

Her husband trusts her without reserve,
Never spiteful, she treats him generously
She shops around for the best yarns and cottons,
She’s like a trading ship that sails to faraway places
and brings back exotic surprises.

She’s up before dawn preparing breakfast
for her family and organizing her day.

She looks over a field and buys it,
then, with money she’s put aside, plants a garden.
First thing in the morning, she dresses for work,
rolls up her sleeves, eager to get started.
She designs gowns and sells them,
brings the sweaters she knits to the dress shops.
Her clothes are well made and elegant,
and she always faces tomorrow with a smile.

When she speaks she has something worthwhile to say,
and she always says it kindly.

She keeps an eye on everyone in her household,
and keeps them all busy and productive.
Her children respect and bless her;
her husband joins in with words of praise:
“Many women have done wonderful things,
but you’ve out classed the all!”

Charm can mislead and beauty soon fades.

The woman to be admired and praised
is the woman who lives in the Fear of God.
Give her everything she deserves!

Festoon her life with praises!
Proud to be a member of the human race

Being just an ordinary human being wandering along the pathway of life, I’ve evolved this simple philosophy to guide me:

To affirm that I am proud to be a member of the human race; to recognize that, regardless of color, class or creed, man’s destiny is my destiny, that only as we learn to live together will we move forward together.

To accept life as it is and go along with it, bravely trying to change what needs to be changed and serenely adapting me, to what cannot be changed.

To realize that no experience in human life is alien to me, and my responsibility is to meet whatever happens to me with fortitude and courage.

To admit that, being human, I am bound to make mistakes, but to make as few as possible and to try to avoid making the same mistake twice.

To recognize the frailties and foibles of human, and to try to be everlastingly patient, forgiving and understanding.

To promptly forget slights and insults and to hope that others will not hold against me the winged arrows that may in anger or irritation escape my lips.

To share my courage and hope with others and keep my fears, heartaches and disappointments to my self.

To go my way quietly and humbly and not worry too much about mysteries I cannot explain.

To do my best here and now and let the future take care of itself.

To be grateful for the precious gift of life with its limitless possibilities.

To glory in the power of human beings to rise to great heights and to outdo themselves in miraculous works.

To find inspiration in the words of Browning: “A man’s reach should exceed his grasp or what’s a heaven for?”

To understand that the goodness of God can be known only through human goodness; that when I express the highest and best I express God.

To confront the inevitable fact that I share with all human beings a common end: that someday Death, the kind old nurse, will rock us all to sleep, so we should help each other while we can.

To admit that, being human, I often fail to live up to my own philosophy, but to keep trying nevertheless.

Knowledge is the key to unlock your true sexual being

Let us acknowledge this one fact of life before we begin to question what is the true meaning of what I am saying here. The fact is we all are sexual beings. We were created in the image of God to reproduce and populate the universe. This was God’s will for each of us in His creation. God said to man and woman, “Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it.”

Now in order for us to do what God has commanded us to do, we had to first come into the knowledge of our own sexual being. Understanding our true sexual nature and being able to use it for good instead of evil is what knowledge power is all about. We were given the power to reproduce life through our sexual nature by God Himself. Knowing how to care for our bodies and that new life we have produced is always a work in progress.

Through our not knowing or lack of knowledge of whom and what we are causes us to experience great tribulations in our life. It is important that as we grow we seek to gain as much knowledge about the gift of sexuality as possible. In this day in time, there is no excuse for us not knowing how to take care of our physical bodies and grow into mature adults. All mistakes are mistakes of ignorance. Knowledge gaining and consequent power is what determines growth and evolution. Knowledge is the result of man’s ability to think.

When our minds are free from the turmoil’s of the world we can gain the knowledge and influence of the world around us and become better stewards of our physical bodies. You must always remember that this body does not belong to you. It was given to you to use temporarily to house the spirit of God that is living inside of you. Therefore you must not neglect it or physically abuse it in any way.

A child having children, HIV and other diseases comes from a lack of knowledge of how our sexuality was to be used. God gave us the ability to enjoy sex in the right environment. We must learn to use our sexuality for the greater good of the relationship that we are in, but at no time must we abuse the beauty of that sexuality to satisfy our lust of the body in which God has blessed each of us to be able to enjoy.

We must always remember, the choice to do right or wrong is ours to make. We are the ones that are in full and complete control of our bodies. When we gain the awareness of the true nature of our sexuality, we are on the road to making the necessary changes in our lives that can bring us love, joy and the complete knowledge that all life is a learning experience for you to become all you can be.

There is no excuse for being ignorant about your own sexuality. Wrong thinking is ignorance. Right thinking is knowledge. The only evil is ignorance. The only good is knowledge. To sin is to sin through ignorance. Ignorance is the only evil that leads to all other forms of evil including pride, malice and hatred. Choose to be in control of your own life, your own sexuality and enjoy each moment that God has blessed you with here on this earth and know that eternity is yours for the asking. God is good!
My Father’s Secret Revealed
Write the vision

Today I am going to reveal to you a very important secret that has been handed down through many generations of my family as farmers. It is a secret that has allowed me to generate wealth for my family and at the same time teach many others how to do the same. I can truly say that I am a blessed man this day to have benefited from the teachings of a very strong father and grandfather who believed in the Universal principals of the laws of nature.

As a kid it was very hard for me to understand why I had to work so hard in the fields, why other kids could play and just loft off. It was hard for me to understand why we didn’t go to the grocery store to buy the things that every one else was spending their money on. It was hard for me to understand why my brothers and I had to work so hard in the fields producing great harvest of watermelons and so many other food items and my father would give so much of it away to the community, when these same folks were always laughing at us for working the fields and would not lift a hand to help. These were very difficult times.

As children we may not always understand the lessons our parents are trying to teach us, but we as parents must never give up on teaching our children the great lessons that we learned from our parents that can help them make a different in the lives of others that they will someday come in contact with.

My father’s secret is this, “God will provide for all our needs. What ever we ask God for, make sure you are ready to receive His blessings when you ask.” The secret was important to him because his father had given it to him. This secret is about planting a watermelon seed into the ground. My father grew watermelons, and he begins his watermelon farm from a few seeds his father had given to him.” You see, when God gives you a seed, you must take what God has given you and immediately thank God for it, then plant it and God will multiply it many times over. The watermelon seeds my father received from his father were given to his father by God. God had blessed him and taught him how to use the seeds he had given to him to feed his family and many other families many times over. My father took the seeds, thanked him for providing them and then he thanked God and immediately begin to apply the lessons his father had taught him about planting watermelon seeds. God can take a few seeds and turn them into millions and millions more seeds.

When you take one watermelon seed and plant it in the ground, it will sprout and bring forth several watermelons each one containing a hundred or more seeds. If you would save each seed from that watermelon, which we as kids had to do. When we ate a watermelon we were given ten plates to spit the seeds into. After which my father would wash the seeds and put them out into the sun to dry. Then the next season he always had plenty seeds to plant and there by enlarging his farm without having to spend his cash to purchased additional seeds. He would also give seeds to other farmers to help them grow watermelons that they would not have been able to grow had it not been for the seeds that my father provided to them.

Once we were finished eating the watermelons my mother had a very large bucket that we must place the watermelon rinds into. She would then cook them and make watermelon rind preserves which we would always have plenty to eat and share with the other farming community. Any rinds that would be left over would always be given to the hogs to help fatten them up. Nothing was ever thrown away or wasted. On the farm there was always a use for everything.

The next season my father would replant the seeds and they would produce several hundred more watermelons containing several hundred thousand seeds. This process can go on and on, pretty soon you will have enough seeds to grow a million or more watermelons. You see Gods says, “When you plant he will give the increase.” My father took what his father had given to him and immediately begins to plant. From that point on, everything was in the hands of God. I have taken the lesson that my father taught me and used it in the business world to build and grow many successful business enterprises.

Now when you understand my father’s secret and actively apply the laws of the universe, you too can build wealth in your family and your community. Although you might not be a farmer, that doesn’t matter, the process works the same, weather you are a farmer, business person or just a lay person. A farmer plants his seeds in the ground and waits for them to germinate. A business person uses a pen and paper to write down his ideas and then they too begin to germinate. Now I understand the lessons of my father.

You can climb the ladder to success

In today’s fast moving world of ever changing technologies, and highly specialized fields of employment, many of our young people are getting left behind. There jobs are moving to other countries where the wages are low and the education and skill levels are much higher. The stress of staying employed and being able to earn a living wage is getting much harder for so many people today, and they are dropping out of the job market and falling further and further behind in their education levels compared to other countries.

Everyone has begun to point fingers, some at the government, some at big business, and others at our trade agreements and economics policies and the list goes on and on.

I think where we are missing the boat is, far to many of us are relining on the government and big business to solve our everyday common problems such as providing us with a job that will give us regular increases in our wages, providing us with good health insurance and giving us the right retirement package that will allow us to retire comfortable.

While I think these things are necessary for some of us, after all not all of us was purposed to become great leaders, we do need followers. However, for those of us whom God blessed with creativity and purposed to become great leaders, what better time than right now for you to step out of the shadows of your current employer and began to develop within yourself a dangerous spirit of unwavering self alliance on your own God given talents to lift you far beyond the level of captivity that your present job and leadership has held you in. What better time than right now when the economy is in the tank, and teetering towards a depression.

This is the wrong time to expect big government, big business and the major financial institutions to come riding to our rescue. It‘s time for us to become people of one mind living in the body of Christ who is in charge of all the world resources.

Your own individual creative talents are limited only by you not allowing your imagination, to roam the world freely, and seek out the world’s vast resources of wealth and opportunity, that can propel you to become the next millionaire or billionaire.

For the Lord did not give us a spirit of fear and poverty. He gave us a spirit of power, love and prosperity. Now He wants us to use this spirit to power our engines and lift us to great heights that we never before imagine that we could ever reach.

Your mind is an engine that is just waiting for you to insert the ignition key and power it up. Your body is an electrical mechanical instrument housed in human skin waiting to move you in the direction your upper most intelligent systems are commanding it to go in.

What so ever your mind can believe and conceive, believe me when I tell you it can achieve. Nothing shall be impossible for you. The ladder to success is taking one step at a time.

That book you have always dreamed of writing, take the first step now. That business that you have always dreamed of starting, take the first step now. That high rise complex that you have always dreamed of building, take the first step now. That new technology computer system that you have always dreamed of designing, take the first step now. That new high tech energy system that will revolutionize your own community and provide jobs for each resident living there, take the first step now. What ever type of business venture that you have dreamed of starting, there is no better time than right now.

Dave Thomas was a high school drop out. He worked in a restaurant for Colonel Sanders, frying chicken while at the same time dreaming and planning to start his own business. With no high school diploma, no PhD’s behind his name, no SBA loans to bank roll his idea, he started a chain of hamburgers restaurants and named them after his daughter. The result is a world wide billion dollar chain of restaurants called Wendy’s.

A dream is just a dream, an idea is just an idea until you mix it with a burning desire and set it in motion by taking that one giant step at a time and begin climbing the ladder to success.

Remember, nothing ventured, nothing gained. You are never too young and you are never too old to climb this ladder. There is always plenty of room at the top for everyone who is willing to take that first step. Jesus said, “If He would be lifted up, that He would draw all men unto Him.”

This is the day that God has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. Let us learn to live one day at a time. Yesterday has passed and tomorrow is not promised. God has blessed you with His marvelous light of life that you have this great opportunity to make this day anything that you want it to be, what are you going to do? The choice is yours, nothing or no one is standing in your way of you achieving your desired goals. Who will you serve this day? Who will you give the praise and glory to for allowing you to be exactly where you are? For the choices you made yesterday and all the yesterdays before has led you to be right where you are today. You may or may not like where you are, but you are where you are because of the choices you made early on in your life. Now, do you have to stay where you are? Absolutely not! Today you have been given another opportunity to make a different choice.

There is a story about a miner that was prospecting for goal many years ago. He had been digging in this same mine for more than twenty years, and had very little to show for all his many years of labor. One day two young college graduates came alone and offered to buy the old miner out, giving him a nice retirement for his many years of labor. The old miner decided to take the two lads up on their offer. He packed up all his personal belongings and moved on. The two lads set up camp and then they begin digging. After digging just a few feet down, they hit the mother lube and now they were super rich.

You see, the old man had to make a choice that day, to stay and continue digging or except the offer from the two lads. Was it a bad choice or a good choice? You decide.

The Bible tells us to seek the kingdom of God first and all the other riches of life will be added unto you. It also tells us not to store up our treasures here on this earth because they can easy be stolen are taken away.

You see each day you awaken, you have the choice to do right are do wrong, go left are go right, be a success are be a failure, except the ways of God are except the ways of Satan. The choice is always yours to make. What ever choice you make, you can rest assured that you will be rewarded for your choice, just as the old miner and the young lads were given their rewards while still in their earthly garments. What rewards are you seeking when you make your choice this day?

Remember that you only need to live life one day at a time. You don’t have to worry about tomorrow but rest in the assurance that He who has led you today will be even closer tomorrow.

The Poor are God’s chosen People

We live in the riches country in the world, the most powerful nation on the face of the universe, but here we are in the 21st century daily awaken to headlines reading; half of our high school seniors are dropping out and not graduating, 28 million people are now receiving food stamps, our soldiers are returning from the war zone and not able to receive proper medical treatment, some are living on the streets, seniors are having to go without their daily doses of medication because of the high cost, 40 million Americans do not have health insurance, and the headlines continue to broadcast more doom and gloom. Where will it all end, and is there a way for a new beginning?

I personally believe there is, if we are willing to set aside our own selfish pride and seek the one who can change the condition of this world as well as our own personal circumstances.

Our government seems to be paralyzed when it comes to helping the poor among us. Jesus told us that the poor will always be with us.

When Jesus preached his Sermon on the Mount, he spoke these words, “Blessed are you poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. Blessed are you who hunger now, for you shall be filled. Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh. Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude you, and revile you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of Man’s sake. Rejoice in that day and leap for joy! For indeed your reward is great in heaven.

We see here that at face value, it appears that Jesus was making a blanket promise of salvation and blessing to anyone below the poverty line. In this view, the poor are seen as God’s chosen people. Though they suffer now, they can expect glorious blessing in the world to come. And the adherents of this view believe that while in this world the people of God should do everything possible to alleviate the suffering of the poor. In this way the kingdom of God is extended.

However, when we don’t offer ourselves up as servants of Christ or our brother’s keeper, listen to what Jesus issues out as His Woes in the same sermon. He says, “But woe to you who are rich, for you have received your consolation. Woe to you who are full, for you shall hunger. Woe to you who laugh now, for you shall mourn and weep. Woe to you when all men speak well of you.”

Jesus wanted us to know, that we have the opportunity to change the conditions and circumstance in which we find ourselves living in. If we don’t step up to the plate now there will be a price to pay latter, this is His warnings in the Woes.

Jesus wants us all to experience the hope and joy that he freely offers to those of us who recognize our spiritual poverty before God. When a person rejects worldly value and embraces the godly teachings of Jesus, then that individual begins to experience the reign of Christ in his or her life. This is how we enjoy the kingdom of God now in this fallen world. One day we will experience the joys of this kingdom in a fuller, more glorious way.

To summarize, anyone, rich or poor (and in a spiritual sense we all are poor), can taste the deep joy of God’s rule and blessing of His kingdom. But doing so requires that we renounce the ways of the world and humbly submit our ways to God. This kind of poverty, an emptying of ourselves of our self-centered desires, is what God expects from everyone.
The Dreams In your heart will keep you young

No one wants to get old; every one wants to be young and vibrant. Being young is in, growing old is out. And why shouldn’t it be, because we are as old as we think we are and just as young as we think we are. It’s a matter of what is inside of our mind, heart and spirit. We must keep in mind that it is not the numbers that make us old, they will continue through eternity, and that is a good thing. Our physical bodies will grow old in age, but your body is not who you are. Your body does not define your spiritual being. You are who you think you are and just as young are as old as you think you are.

Emerson once wrote, “We do not count a man’s years until he has nothing else to count.” My Dad is 90 years old and still going strong. This past weekend we debated the politics of the world for hours. My Dad loves politics and he is still a very skill debater. He stays young by continuing to grow. You see my Dad knows the key to youthful living. That is, you do not grow old; you become old by not growing.

God gives us dreams, and because of our age we put those dreams aside and say to ourselves, I can’t do that because I am way past the age for involving myself in such things. In the Bible we see that Sarah was way past her so call child bearing age, and with much doubt in her mind after God told her that she was going to have a baby in her late 90’s, she laugh at God. But God had the last laugh. Sarah and Abraham had the baby that God promised them. You see, nothing is too hard for God if only you believe. God said that if you had the faith of a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mountain to get up and jump into the sea and it would be done.

Faith is the key that unlocks all your dreams of hope in the youthful life that lies ahead that God has provided for you. Staying stuck in yesterday dreams is not an option for those who want to maintain a healthy life style and not grow old in heart.

Slowing the aging process in your life is up to you. There are many things you can do if only you would take the time to involve yourself in the joy and not the sorrows of life. Start by maintaining a cheerful attitude. Keep this verse from Proverbs in mind: “A merry heart doeth good like medicine, but a broken spirit drieth up the bones.”

You can stay young like my Dad, by keeping your mind alive and alert. Scientists have found that the ability to think does not decline with advancing age; the only difference may be a slight decrease in the speed of thinking.

You can stay young by forcing your mind out of old ruts. Remember that beaten paths are for beaten people. See new places, read new books, try new hobbies. Increase the depth of your life.

You can stay young by keeping your heart young. “If it can be done,” wrote the poet, Carl Sandburg, “it is not a bad practice for a man of many years to die with a boy heart.” This list can go on and on. But I will conclude with this one last thought, and that is, you can stay young simply by knowing this most important fact, “They who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk, and not faint.”
It is one of my favorite scriptures from the word of God. I share it with you from Psalms 27 of the Message Bible. It is a psalm of trust, and it begins with David’s affirmation of the reality of God in his life. The poem presents a strong desire to live in the presence of God and points to the ongoing need for believers to continue to “wait” on the Lord. The psalm has six movements: (1) A determination not to fear enemies because of God’s presence. (2) A desire to live in the presence of the Lord. (3) An affirmation of praise to God. (4) A prayer for God’s continuing presence. (5) A prayer for continuing trust in the midst of a life of stress. (6) A word of instruction.

Light, space, zest
That’s God!
So, with him on my side I’m fearless,
Afraid of no one and nothing.

When vandal hordes ride down
Ready to eat me alive,
Those bullies and toughs
Fall flat on their faces.

When besieged,
I’m calm as a baby.
When all hell breaks loose,
I’m collected and cool.

I’m asking God for one thing,
Only one thing:
To live with him in his house
My whole life long.
I’ll contemplate his beauty;
I’ll study at his feet.

That’s the only quiet, secure place
In a noisy world,
The perfect getaway,
Far from the buzz of traffic.

God holds me head and shoulders
Above all who try to pull me down.
I’m headed for his place to offer anthems
That will raise the roof!
Already I’m singing God-songs;
I’m making music to God.

Listen, God, I’m calling at the top of my lungs:
“Be good to me! Answer me!”
When my heart whispered, “Seek God,”
My whole being replied,
I’m seeking him!”
Don’t hide from me now!

You’ve always been right there for me;
Don’t throw me out, don’t abandon me;
You’ve always kept the door open.
My father and mother walked out and left me,
But God took me in.

Point me down your highway, God;
Direct me along a well-lighted street;
Show my enemies whose side you’re on.
Don’t throw me to the dogs,
Those liars who are out to get me,
Filling the air with their threats.

I’m sure now I’ll see God’s goodness
In the exuberant earth.
Stay with God!
Take heart. Don’t quit.
I’ll say it again;
Stay with God.

Someone is speaking to you, will you listen?

Our ability to hear what someone else is saying to us depends on weather or not we have trained ourselves with the selectivity of listening while the other person is speaking or weather we are just one of those people that has to always have something to say no matter what the other person is saying. God has given us ears to hear and eyes to see. Does that mean we use these gifts for the good they were given. Absolutely not, because most of the time we hear what we want to hear and then tune out what the other person is saying to us. Our eyes see the trees, but they cannot see the forest because we limit our imagination to only what’s in front of us, blocking our creative vision that is far reaching.

Now listen if you will to what the book of Proverbs tells us, it says, “But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, and will be secure, without fear of evil.” Sometimes we need to be secure in our own surroundings and people are telling us about things that could help us grow and be safe, but do we take the time to listen to what they are telling us, or do we just block out what they are saying and here only what we want to hear once again.

A good listener will adapt to his surroundings and will eagerly wait to here what the other person is saying before speaking. This allows the listener to gather his or her thoughts in a manner that will reflect well on what the person that is speaking has to say. When we learn to become good listeners we can here the voice of God speaking through everything and in everything that our ears may hear and our eyes may see.

When you learn to tune your listening skills into the Universal sounds of God, you will tune into the good of all things such as love, hope and courage and tune out gossip, fear and resentment. You will have within you the ability to listen to the beauty of your surroundings as you relax to the music of the masters; listening to the symphony of nature—hum of the wind in the treetops, bird songs, thundering surf.

Develop your listening skills to be patience. Do not hurry the other person. Show them the courtesy of listening to what they have to say, no matter how much you may disagree. You may learn something. When you become a good listener, you will grow in God’s grace, reflecting the beauty of His love that resides within you. As you learn to listen, you are allowing God to teach you, and the one thing He wants most from you is for you to be still, and allow Him to have His way with you.

Give God your heart by learning to listen with your heart. Practice empathy when you listen; put yourself in the other person’s place and try to hear his problems in your heart. When you do this you will be amazed at the growth you will experience as a good listener. Because as you grow, you will begin to experience the creativity, that lives within you. You see God has given others ideas to share with you. Good ideas are always all around you waiting for you to discover them from your ability to listen for them.

You are the master of your universe, the captain of your ship, and you will always reap what you sow. Sow sparely and you shall also reap sparely. Therefore if you want to develop the skills of becoming a good listener, you must practice, practice, and practice. The more you practice the better your listening skills will become, the more focus you will be and the greater the love for your fellow man to speak to your heart will be greatly enhanced.

The great achievement of a Dreamer

I am a dreamer, you are a dreamer, and we all are dreamers. What we do with the beautiful dreams that each one of us have been given, is what sets us a part from each other.

Just image, today God has set before you the greatest opportunity you have ever had to change your world and redesign it in any way you choose. Nothing is more important to you than this very moment. Last night you had this incredible dream, it was one that you had prayed about often, but always had some doubt in your mind that you could ever achieve such a great task. Now the moment in time that you have been waiting for, has finally arrived. What are you going to do? God has blessed you, He has anointed you, and He has equipped you, and has appointed you to achieve your desired goal in life. This is the day He has assigned you to get the job done, and upon the completion of this job you would have achieved the greatest task that has ever been assigned to anyone.

No time to complain, no time to explain, because in your dreams you saw yourself as a visionary, a master builder of a brand new world that you would create for all of those who would believe in your dreams and dare to follow a great visionary. Your triumphant personality would be that of a great and undefined leader, striding toward far horizons of constructive accomplishments.

You know that in your heart you were given this one incredible opportunity to get it right. In your dream you saw yourself being like Jesus, a master servant of the human race. Your mission is to preach good news to the poor, heal the heartbroken, announce freedom to all captives, and radiate happiness and hope for all those in need.

Now you have been brought face to face with the vast white canvas of Time, and hold in your hand the camel’s hair brush of a painter of Life. God has provided you with the best paint known to man. Those paints are your thoughts, your emotions and acts. The first thing you do is select the color of your thoughts, drab or bright, weak or strong, good or bad. Then you select the colors of your emotions, discordant or harmonious, harsh or quiet, weak or strong. And finally, you select the colors of your acts; cold or warm, fearful or daring, small or big.

As you look at this big white canvas, you are determined to get it right. The ideal in your mind must become the reality on the canvas of time. You know that time is everything. The clock is always ticking and every minute spent without making the necessary stokes on that canvas are minutes lost that can never be recovered, and the more minutes you loose the harder it will be for you to complete the task at hand.

You finally begin by selecting and mixing the positive colors of heart, mind and spirit into the qualities of effective living: patience, determination, endurance, self-discipline, work, love and faith. Each moment of your life is a brush stroke in the painting of dreams that God has given to you.

A Dreamer dreams great dreams and dare to live out those dreams. He knows that nothing ventured will be the results of nothing gained. But if he strides towards the goal of achieving his dreams, the end results will be a MASTERPIECE.

Today, we pause for a moment to reflect upon what it must have been like for a mother who was forced to watch her son take his last breath. However, keep in mind, this son was no ordinary man. He was the son of God, yet he was fully human just like you and I and at the same time He was God Himself in the flesh and the son of his earthly Mother, Mary.

Now here he was stretched out upon a cross with nails in both his hands, nails in both his feet and nails driven through his side. His Mother was unable to help him, not even to wipe the tear from his eye. All she could do was just stand there and watch the soldiers mock him, offer him sour wine, while at the same time yelling and screaming at him with words like; “If you are truly the king of the Jews, save yourself.” She even had to listen to the rulers sneering at him. They said, “He saved others; let him save himself if he is the Christ of God, the Chosen One.”

This Mother knew her son was innocent of the entire charges levy against him. She also knew that he was really the Messiah, the Chosen One. However, this Mother was human, she was in the flesh. She had given birth to this son, after carrying him for nine months. She had cared for him, giving him all the love and care every Mother would give to their son. Home schooling him and training him to be the best he could be. She watched him work in the wood shop with his father Joseph, and he had made her a very proud Mother.

Now she knew in her heart that the hour was near when her wonderful son would soon take his last breath. The Bible tells us that the time of death of this Mother’s son was about the sixth hour. This would make it about twelve noon. The whole land was consumed with darkness that lasted until around the ninth hour, which would be around three in the evening.

When I think about the whole land turning completely dark at high noon and remaining so for about three hours, how dark was this Mother’s world at this very moment when she had to watch her son suffer the most horrible, disgraceful punishment known. What was going through her mind at that very moment, knowing that at any moment the son that she had given birth to, was about to take his very last breath?

They Hung Him on a Cross

For each one of us a physical death will occur at some point in our mortal lives. This body, which is the temporary housing for the eternal spirit that lives within, will return back to the dirt of the ground from which it came. However, our eternal spirit will return back to the Father from which it also came. We have a permanent connection to our father in heaven which can never be separated.

You see God sent His only begotten son into this world to reconcile us back to him. Jesus bore our sins that we would have eternal life. But as He walked among His own brethren, there were those that perceived Him to be a threat to their own way of life. So they sought to capture Him and kill Him in order to stop Him from speaking the truth.

They found that way in Judas one of Jesus own disciples, and Judas decided that it was in his own financial best interest to betray Jesus for a few dollars to satisfy his own greed. Now Jesus must pay with His life for Judas greed, as well as each one of us. For the Bible teaches us that we all have sinned and fallen short of His glory.

Now listen to what happens from this point; “As they led him off, they made Simon, a man from Cyrene who happened to be coming in from the countryside, carry the cross behind Jesus. A huge crowd of people followed, along with women weeping and carrying on. At one point Jesus turned to the women and said, “Daughters of Jerusalem don’t cry for me. Cry for yourselves and for your children. The time is coming when they’ll say, “Lucky the women who never conceived! Lucky the wombs that never gave birth! Lucky the breasts that never gave milk!” Then they’ll start calling to the mountains, “Fall down on us! Calling to the hills, “Cover us up!” If people do these things to a live, green tree, can you imagine what they’ll do with deadwood?”

Two others, both criminals, were taken along with him for execution. When they got to the place called Skull Hill, they crucified him, along with the criminals, one on his right, the other on his left.

However, knowing that he was about to be hanged, Jesus showed pure love for his enemies. At any time He could have chose to climb down from that cross and destroy those who were getting ready to take His life, but instead He chose to stay there and bare the burden of the sins of the entire world.

Now listen to His final prayer, “Father, forgive them; they don’t know what they’re doing.”

How will you show your love this Easter and what will be your prayer? Please comment.

The Great Danger of Politically Motivated Leadership

We are living in difficulty times and as a society that is control by political leadership, we look for our leaders to stand up to the task and be real leaders making moral judgments about our country and the future welfare of all her citizens. We elected our leaders and bestowed upon them the power to run our country in a manner that would benefit all of its citizens. We know that power is essential to leadership, without it leaders can’t lead. Unfortunately, the power and influence that was bestowed upon our present leadership has not always been used to help others. Instead it has been used to enrich themselves and a select few at the very top end of the spectrum.

Now our country is facing a decline in moral values, moral leadership, two wars, and rumors of other wars; our soldiers are fighting bravely and dying needless, including my own son and other relatives. We are facing record high gas prices, mortgage foreclosures, job loses, and lower wages a declining dollar and record high deficits, with piles of debt that is being stacked on the backs of future generations. Where will it all end and what can we do to help turn it around?

While it is important for our leaders to have power to lead, it is more important for them to learn how to use the power that was given to them correctly. Because at this time of year we celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God made sure that He provided us with a great lesson of the miss use of power in the hands of a politically motivated leader. The life of Pontius Pilate provides us with such a lesson.

Pontius Pilate knew that Jesus was innocent of any wrongdoing. He was certain of what was morally right; his wife had confirmed this just minutes earlier. While court was still in session, Pilate’s wife sent him a message: She said, “Don’t get mixed up in judging this noble man. I’ve just been through a long and troubled night because of a dream about him.’ But at this point Pontius Pilate was not ready to listen to his wife, because he was more interested in his career and his political standing with the Jewish leaders than what his wife had to say at this moment. He knew that his life would be much easier if the people under his jurisdiction were to oppose him only mildly than if they were to become hostile. Pilate had a choice: He could either do what was morally right or what was best for his career and his convenience. His legacy as a weakling and a scoundrel records the sad outcome of his choice.

Pontius Pilate acknowledged Jesus innocence, yet still had Him crucified. Why? Because he valued the people’s approval, more than God’s approval. Godly values act as a harness to the exercise of power and influence—they help us to maintain control and direct our influence in productive ways.

Our leaders of today live regularly with that choice. Rarely does rejecting the moral high ground produce the intended outcome for the long haul. If for one minute you doubt the truth of that statement, just ask Pilate to fill you in on the details of his experience.
