Love Should Not Exist in Text
I've been in a bad mood.  Crying jags, mixed with irritability.  Crafty has been in one as well--headaches and overworked.  In fact he was laying down when I spoke to him today, as the shadow of a cluster headache was looming.  It did not make for a pretty conversation.

I spoke to him and he mentioned he had taken saturday off.  Really? Cuz I had plans for saturday.  He had told me earlier that he was going to try to get that day off, but never explicitly said that he was doing it to spend time with me.  So I asked him point blank, "Are we doing something that day?  Because I was going to go to the spa with my friend."  He whined a little and told me that he wanted to spend that day with me.

Okay, fine.  I'm a believer in chicks before dicks, but sometimes a girl has to make a concession.  I haven't seen him for a whole day since--ever.  This was my chance.  A full 24 hours with him.  So I told him, I would cancel my day at the spa, but I would be very sad if I ended up just sitting at home waiting for him on saturday.  "Pencil me in" he said.  Now pencil me in means to me that plans are tentative.  Pencils have erasers.  I want a fucking Sharpie.  So I said to him again that I just wanted to know whether or not there was a chance he would cancel. "Go to the spa if you think I am going to cancel on you", he said.  "I'll call you back when I don't feel like shit"

Granted, i did nag a little, but jesus, all I wanted to hear was that plans were firm.  I feel like all I do is wait around for him.  It would be nice if he tried to be a bit more accomodating to me as well.

I was hurt and pissed and was crying while going to pick up a friend for lunch.  A half an hour after Crafty and I hung up, I get this text.

"I don't know if I can deal with the constant doubt and drama.

But I think I'm falling in love with you.  Ttyl."

Huh??????

Now, as a woman, i read this as two completely different statements.  Statement 1.  I don't know if I want to stick around.  Statement 2.  I want to stick around becuase I am FUCKING FALLING IN LOVE WITH YOU.

Not only should they not be in the same text message, that last one shouldn't even BE in a text message.  Let's save the texting for chit chat, banter and dirty talk once in a while, shall we?  But. hey Guy, if you're falling in love with me, I'll take a letter, a call, a telegram, a carrier pigeon, smoke signals, even a carefully worded email. But text?  Come on.

I didn't know what to do.  I believe I sent a rambling note back saying I was sorry for the drama and that i wasn't feeling well.  I COMPLETELY ignored that last statement.  And I'm going to keep ignoring it until it comes in another form besides text.  Am I being petty?  Maybe a little.  But sack up, dude.

We do have firm plans now, however.  We spoke this evening and he is coming over tomorrow night and sticking around all saturday.  Yay!  He said he is going to give me the biggest hug ever when he sees me and then we will just lie on the couch while he pets my hair.  Heaven.

I really hope I don't get pissy and fuck it up.  I really hope he doesn't have a headache that I have to nurse.  I am trying not to have expectations as I always seem to be disappointed when I do.  Just let things happen, you know.

Oh, and even though it was in text, there is a little piece of me inside that keeps jumping up and down saying, "He's falling in love with you!"  Hee hee

LMAO you are so dead on with the not saying the "L" word via text... unless you are referring to a cute little puppy that you'd just Love to have... otherwise, nope.

Look, that remark about "love" was a MANIPULATION...

The road leads to you looking at your cellphone in the not-too-distant future, and saying to yourself, "I really don't need this..."
