Friends. They are really hard work. Should they be hard work? I don't know. I've always found it hard to make and keep friends. Theres just something about me that people don't like I guess. But over the years I've slowly learnt to just deal with it. Theres no point in holding a grudge against people just because they don't want to be your friend.
And then there is out-growing friends. People I've know since school who now treat me as if I'm a complete stranger to them, like I'm an alien from a different planet. I mean that hurts. But I've known long before now that friendship doesn't last forever and you always outgrow your friends.
People are fickle. I mean, obviously it's mostly my fault for being such an anti-social nobody anyway. I think I'm just better off alone. I like being alone - most of the time. But sometimes you just need other people to have fun and a friend when you really need one. |
