It is an unfortunate compromise when it comes to friendship and relationships of an alleged higher nature. One must consider in these situations however, sometimes it is to one’s benefit to allow these friendships to nullify themselves. What seems to be the unfortunate reality of friendship is that it is quite often merely a concept that expires over time which leaves one’s actions inconsequential. Additionally more often than not they are worth either nullification or to embrace aspirations for something more regardless of consequence.

I would encourage you to be true to yourself.
If lying hurts you and makes you feel like you will be in trouble, then tell the one asking you to lie, just that.
Tell him if a lie must be told, to tell it himself.
If you have to compromise who you are and your morals to be accepted by someone, they are stealing your very soul, and that is not a true friend.
