Muslim politician makes rare visits to church, temples (this is the news title in Malaysian Insider, April 3)
It is needless to copy and paste the news article here. ( Just click the link or search the Malaysian Insider website for the news).
Why our Malaysia cannot go forward? I mean, why is Malaysia is so slow in progress to move forward, (or in other sense forward to tamadun moden?) Yeah, we have all the modern skyscrapers, LRT, monorail, airplanes and blab la, but what about the ‘ketamadunan’ in thinking? ( emm.. I don’t know how what’s the word for it, but more or less it means moving forward or something la..)
Look at the headline above. It is because they are conservative.. Yes, very conservative… old rules are supposed to be broken and let the reasonable ones in… For them, Muslims will always be a Muslims… Even if a Muslim converted to Christianity she will get convicted too.. ( remember the Lina’s case?) Why?why? why? Because they are still sticking to the old rules, which are “modernized” by whoever it is that it remained till now. Yeah, I admitted there are a bunch of modern Malays out there, but it is considered a minority. I have a few friends, and they have this modern thinking, you know like using common sense and not sticking to rules which sometimes are not right. But what can do, these modernites are a minority wat….
Well, in reality, the al-Quran didn’t teach to ignore other people regardless of race, right? Nor the bible.. (although I didn’t reach both…Hehe..) but in the religious sense, I think I am correct..
Well, an example that we should look up too is our new Penang CM Lim Guan Eng. As a politician, ok, Chief Minister he made an effort to attend the Prophet’s Day (that’a Muslim celebration) and also Good Friday. By the way, I think he’s the first Chinese CM to attend the Muslim’s function right? And there’s a speculation that he is a Christian, but I don’t know how true it is. Haha, looks like you readers got to find it yourself…Wakaka..
All talk above, but what is my point? My point here is, if you want to promote integrity, harmony, and reduce the racism matter, you got to learn and make an effort to know other people’s race as well.. At least the basics of it; like why the Malays practice the 5 times praying a day, or why the Chinese has this and that pantang larang or why the Indians bath in oil during Deepavali? I am very sure I learned some of those in school, in Moral Education, if I am not mistaken. So tell me, if schoolchildren have this little knowledge, it is impossible that politicians do not know any of this right? What I think is politicians should make a point to know other race or religions’ principles so you won’t offend others.. Just like the keris-wielding show..that really annoyed me… Just don’t think one race is superior over others, in fact, most of the religions teach the good and not the bad stuff right, and I believe there’s only God watching over us.
Fortunately, our Malaysia have been living in peace, and I am glad we are still surviving now in this warless country.. and I am praying that will continue till the end of the World.. Just that I would like to see a ‘cleaner’ country, a country that will prosper and not left behind 10 years 20 years behind other countries. So shameful if we have skyscrapers with attitude that is so bad that it left very bad impression to foreigners..Right, I won’t talk much here; we all know what is going on here… It’s just that we do not want to get caught into ISA jail and get tormented. Haha…
