The next few poems were written about the same person, who will remain nameless. Good writing material though, even if I do say so myself! :)
Reflections On a Starry Night
The stars are out in abundance
Glittering the sky above
I sit down here and watch them
Reflecting on our love.
What has happened to you and I
What made it all go south
Did I talk to much or not enough
Should I have shut my mouth?
I remember the blush creep up your face
When we met on that hot summer day
These feelings were new for both of us
I remember feeling so out of place.
The way you laughed when I touched you
The way you smiled at me all day
In a million years, you’ll never convince me
That you felt nothing for me at all, in any way.
I hold those memories close to my breast
The sound of your laughter, the feel of your chest
Some day, some time somehow
I must put your memory to rest.
I’ve never felt like this before
That makes it harder to do
And try as I might, I cannot erase
My feelings or memories of you.
