Started off quietly enough today. Took Jen to work. Just as she was getting out of the car her ex texted her saying he was sick (he has a chronic illness and goes to hospital a lot) and could I come and get the girls. Picked them up and had to go home change (I'd stayed in my PJ's to take Jen to work - won't make that mistake again), and make Mike's lunch before going and picking up Bec and the boys.
Took her to work and Taine to his holiday carer Teresa. This woman is an absolute gem. She runs a respite and day care centre, from her home, for disabled kids. She has three children of her own and can have anything up to 6 disabled kids there at any one time. This house is surrounded by a high brush fence and is locked up like "Fort Knox". It has to be because she can't afford for any of the kids to get out and take off.
Inside the house is clean and tidy and organised. I should be so organised at my house and there is usually only three of us here - five if the girls stay the night. She has a program all worked out for the kids and she takes them out somewhere nearly every day. Either to the movies, a picnic etc.
Taine loves her and always knows when it is school holiday time and when he is going to Teresa's.
Anyway I dropped him there and took the other three home for their breakfast.
Picked up the girl's father from hospital later in the day and dropped them home about 1pm.
I started my first cloth doll today. It is a gift for Chelsea and I have been promising to make it for her for some time.
Hopefully it will be a quiet night at home. Jen is out and Mike is just putting a piece of roast beef on the BBQ. We have one of those hooded types that work the same as an oven and you can roast meat in them.
Sorry if this sounds a bit boring but it has just been one of those ordinary days. I want to use this blog like a diary and record some of the things that happen even the mundane.
This photo is of Chelsea.
