Ok, time to vent. As I type this I am currently sitting in a corner of my basement in the dark. Why you may ask? Don't you have a living room? A desk? A couch? While I do have all these things, they are currently being invaded by very unwelcome house guests! House guests that will not go away! Apparently my house is a full service resort.. No really! Come on over.. Turn up the A/C so the whole house is 60 degrees.. its ok, you are not paying the electric bill. And if you are hungry, please, help yourself to any food in the house.. it is after all free to you. And if I do not have what you like, just complain to me about it and I will go the store and get it. I am also a chef, so whenever you are hungry, just come to me and place your order. Feel free to take a 2 hour long shower, again, water is free to you. And if you make a mess in the bathroom, I am also a maid, so just come to me and let me know. I will gladly clean up after you. Please, turn up the TV to the max volume.. who cares if the speakers start to crackle; you do not have to pay for new speakers.And pay-per-view movies.. no problem, order your fill! Oh, and also, feel free to snoop around any room of the house you want.. even the drawer with my "unmentionables." Just claim you are looking for the TV remote and that will make it ok.. And since you are so interested in my private possessions, would you like me to tell you where I keep my adult "toys?"
ARGH! I am ready to pull my hair out! When I am a guest in someone's house, I do NOT act this way. Even if it is a close relative, I am on my best behavior.I want to help out and have them do as little work as possible! I say please and thank you. I do not do anything without asking. If I am staying the night, I take as quick a shower as possible and make sure that I clean up after myself! And I would never go snooping through anyone's house... well.. ok, maybe I will open the medicine cabinet in the bathroom.. it is just so tempting.
Was I just raised different to think that you should be respectful in someone else's home? |

Who the heck is staying there?! I agree with you. Wanna be MY houseguest?:P Or I'll come over, push those there out and sit in:) Sounds like an episode of Fraiser with Daphne's family.

Or better still... how about an ant infestation, because that's what I thought you were initially talking about. Not a pest of the human kind.

CG- been there, done that.. not fun! no matter how much we are "supposed" to do for our guests, being door matts is not one of them. you shouldn't have to put up with that, especially in your own home. rant away hun, and if you need to, kick em to the curb and tell them to go back to the real world and mooch off of someone else :p

C_G You can only be talking about TEENAGERS!!! If you're not, then for sure my two tick all those boxes hun.
The sweet wrappers, empty cans, furry teacups, Ice cream wrappers tuck to the tables, the carpet, stuffed down gaps in the sofa. Not to mention little yellow pellets from a toy gun that are to be found stuck to your heels (ouch!) in the bath, the shower... in my washing machine (Aargh!) and lately, in the trash.
Then there's the music (if you can call it that), the warhammer modelling, the paints, the glue left to spill on the floor, the tables etc... the lost ipod controllers, the scratched dvd's from where they've walked on them, dropped on the floor, discarded. Men! Tell them to find something and they galnce around the surfaces and say... nope! not here. Ever thought of lifting up a newspaper or item of clothing and looking underneath...? No. the toilets... well, least said soonest mended on that score... the hamster gets ignored, the cat goes unfed and the chairs are all theirs. Cups grow foamy mold, all my crockery goes missing and for the righting and clearing of all this mayhem, my fee?
No charge.

I'll tell you what to do here. Your next trip out for requested food for one of the moochers don't buy food buy a megaphone. Go straight to the people in your panty drawer and blast them to get out of your room. Then hit the people at the fridge with the same. Next stand beside the tv and speak loudly into the thing and tell everyone else it is time to go while jerking the cord out of the wall! If that isn't enough call the cops! I don't know who is in your house but they wouldn't be welcomed back to mine after acting like that!
