It's been a surreal three days. I'm still not there for
reals...though it's becoming more real each day. My routine is falling
into place. I thought the ritual of buying school supplies would give
me fulfillment and some sort of...well, maybe closure to summer. But
that didn't really happen...it was hectic and I was exhausted...I
derived very little enjoyment from it. Then I got ice cream. : ) The
guy who was working there reminded me of a couple of my friends...or,
well, I guess, more like casual acquaintances/friendy-types. Either
way, it made me happy to see him, because I hadn't seen those kids in
awhile, and they're always good times.
I'm having back problems,
and I haven't even been to DPYO yet (Dayton Philharmonic Youth
Orchestra...three-hour practices on Sunday afternoons. Quel
sucktasticness). I think XC is the culprit. Yesterday, my lower back,
hips, and thighs hurt so bad I had to stop running. Needless to say, I
was very frustrated. So after brooding and wallowing in self-pity for
awhile, I resolved to do well today and drink lots of water and eat
food that's good for you. I did just that. I rocked those whistle
drills today, thanks to 1. the cooler weather, and 2. whistle drills
being my favorite workout!
