Wow,
Just when I thought the drama at work was quieting down...it doesn't. I've been fed up with things for a long time, but the sad part is that I have felt like I couldn't possibly change the things that make me feel this way.
They make me do alot at work...the kind that wasn't written in my contract. Like, I get to maintenance the company coffee machine, (emptying the grinds, cleaning it out, putting new coffee in the sections and added to that I have to roll the coins that people put in to purchase a cup of java) Ya, the manager that pawned off the task of cleaning/ maintenancing and now rolling the coins for the coffee machine had the nerve to come up to me this week and tell me that I wasn't rolling the coins fast enough so he could give the money to the boss(*Reason as to why someone might be anxious to give the boss money).
You think the extra jobs would stop there, but for the last 1.5years I have been carting pop from the store, to home, to work(it's a 2 block walk from the parking lot to my office carrying a case or 2 of pop) because I have had to purchase the company pop supply too. Mind you I have to use my own money since we don't have petty cash, and then I get to do a expense report and 2-3 weeks later I see the money I spent.
My back has been getting knots due to all the stress of trying to keep things together while I watch the company start to slide into a black abyss. Today I decided enough with this rediculous notion that I should be the company slave and I told them that due to my back I could no longer cart around the pop. My boss being the great man that he is came to my desk instantly after receiving the email I wrote. " So, you are having back pain?" 'Yes." "Well, we could pay for a massage every week." (All I could do at that point was laugh at him...like are you THAT desperate?) Then he points to what I thought was my phone, "What about him?" 'Him, who?' I asked thinking that my boss had really gone off the deep end. "Your boyfriend (he gestures to the picture on my desk)...can't he do it for you." Wow....that is the most logic defying idea (they happen quite frequently) I have heard in the last day in my place of work. Can anyone tell my why my boyfriend that doesn't work for the company is supposed to bring pop to my place of work? ANYONE have an answer for that????? I sure don't.
So, Boss= Desperate to keep me his slave for stupid tasks + *man that doesn't know how to pay the phone company, the printer people, the courier, the water delivery people, right down to the cleaners (Ya, why pay the cleaners...they just NEED SUPPLIES TO CLEAN).
Oh, and they hired 3 new people this week....I felt like saying: Welcome to the Titanic...lifeboats are to your left, but choose carefully because we haven't paid the lifeboat maintenance crew, and there are only 2 available life vests. GOOD LUCK!
