 Quiet One II
Waiting, just waiting, for the locals to accept him. The neighbor's dogs, the damn crickets.

He no longer cared to be a part of ordinary society. It was a fine day when he reconciled himself to a different life. A revelation! Freedom! No restraints!
It was a gift. He was  free of the shackles, of  'regular' relationships.  His passion was of a  much deeper kind. One of the few.
He had suffered loneliness, and deprivation to learn a lesson.  Take it, no one is going to hand you anything. He learned that very well.

Now, he had time, plenty of time. He had been a visitor many nights to this old house.
A visitor?  More like a resident.  Yes, he resided here. He had  been here since...June, I think it was, yes, June when his previous relationship had finally died.

This one was going fine. He had his favorite spots. The crawlspace, spiderwebs brushed aside. No spiders in further, where light doesn't shine. Very convenient, to see and hear what is going on. Ordinary homelife. Simple meals, conversation, small spats, bits of music, casual ,careless behaviors, nudity,
and restrained sex. He knew these people better than thier Mothers did. The old floor's cracks let him follow the action. He lived  just two feet from her. No one had a clue.
And, the living room view, like watching a silent movie, from a old Mercruiser under a tarp, been there for years.
Comfy actually, lying prone on a lounge chair cushion. Some teenagers may have thought of this before he did. Probably she had done it. People should watch their kids.
And the best place, under  her window, close enough to touch. Funny, no one noticed ,in the dirt, a bare spot.

Ok, so I get to follow the spammer. . .maybe I'll actually type an almost complete sentence with good spelling and grammar, unlike my post in Roe's blog today. . .or maybe not. Anyway, I looked forward to signing on tonight to see if you had written anything else. This is going well. I like creepy stories with scary men.

Well done you! Regarding your grandmother, one of my closest friends lives in Edinburgh and her maiden name was Thompson. I managed to find out a lot about my gt grandparents through a geneologist who lives nearby. I could e mail her and ask her how to go about it. Scottish/Irish people are very connected. My Great Grandmother on my father's side was a Stirling who had originally come from Scotland before settling in County Antrim. Sometimes the accents are really similar. From where I live I can see Scotland very clearly on a good day.

"And, the living room view, like watching a silent movie, from a old Mercruiser under a tarp, been there for years."
I love that sentence!

dont ask...how I ended up commenting on this one out of order...funny you should ask

anyway...

when I read this one, I could not get on the computer to comment....but I forgot I did not comment....but because I read it

I figured I did?

Everything is such a mystery to me, maybe thats why I like this series so much!

It probably has more to do with the fact you have so much talent for writing! dah!
