It is the maids day off. Every day is the maids day off. When I hurt my knee hubby hired some help for me, She would come up the driveway every day promptly at 7;00 A.M.
I am barely awake at 7;00 A.M. and in no mood to practice my spanish, or to tidy up ahead of the maid. So I would ask her to work outside for awhile.
The flowerbeds always need weeding, and the walk, sweeping, and there is a lot to do outside.
So we got in to a bad habit, she just did yardwork, oh she would come in and sweep and dustmop the living room, but yardwork is what she was comfortable doing.
After some months of this I asked hubby if I still needed a maid, and he let me off the hook. My yard has never looked as nice again.
Anyway, today I got busy cleaning, but I called my support group, and they talked me down.
Okay, sis, I know this is your line but get your own blog.
I really do need to clean, a BIG cleaning because my girl cousins are coming for a visit. Worse than MIL day. Their Mom kept a spotless house. They colored inside the lines.
I used to buy my children a brand new box of 64 crayons, and when we got them home, we would break every one, and put it in a shoebox. I told those poor innocent children that the crayon is only a form of solid color, use it to spread the color.
Don't worry about breaking the crayon. No coloring books either, or rarely anyway. Fearless me, I allowed them to use my paints too,
but NOT my expensive brushes,
I don't have a Piccasso(wasn't he was kind of creepy)? At least they were not afraid of coloring outside the lines. They are not afraid to make decisions, and tackle bigger projects, I like to think I had a hand in those traits.
I still have to clean house, maybe tomorrow. |
