 Clarification
Once in a while I make a reference to my illness, and to my husband's illness. I don't seek attention, it is just what it is, my life.
Despite my illness, I love my life.  I am so thrilled to be doing better, and keep my fingers crossed for a complete cure for us both, someday.
I do want to say, to anyone who may question this, I had telephone calls ,flowers, and mail delivered to me in more than one hospital in the months I was staying there.
Roe is one of the wonderful people who called me faithfully. She tracked me down through the hospital maze.  The others are more reticent, but thier calls cheered me more than they can know. Thoughts community truly is 'onelove'
.

oh
gee wiz, what can I say?
I really felt a connection with you instantly, it is I who wish to thank you because I feel so blessed to have you in my life, and not just virtually speaking! You are truly one of a kind, a gift to thoughts and beyond. I will be right back, I'm going to get a box of Kleenex, I'm not finished with my comment! Fancy that?

Just in case you have never read anything written by Circe before today, let me tell you a little bit about a beautiful human being I have had the distinct pleasure of meeting!
Well, it was more a meeting of the minds! Although not in person!

Circe is cringing right now, "oh, no, what is she going to say?" I'm going to tell everyone that you are one true humanitarian, a gift to mankind and very private so I promise I will tread very carefully as I continue on this
"You are too marvelous for words" path.

I don't really remember when we encountered each other for the first time on thoughts, but I vividly recollect one of our first phone calls. I was driving to Michigan and for some reason happened to be alone in the car. Once we began talking, we found ourselves immersed in conversation, while getting to know one another, chatting away, swapping stories and discussing life in and out of the site, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. Consequently, it took me quite sometime to realize I had become completely lost. Just so you know, at that particular time, I had been driving to the same location for over 10 years and could practically do it in my sleep. She and I laughed about it (truthfully I was a tad embarrassed) Thankfully, my new buddy stayed on the line, kept me company and with the help of a few maps on her end, acted like my very own gps system, guiding me back on course.

Picture this woman, clear across the country naming streets and intersections that I would soon be approaching, telling me to take a left or veer to the right etc. Wow, that cell phone bill was a doozy, yet worth every penny, we must have chatted for almost 2 hours?

Circe is a true friend, a devoted wife and mother! She is humble to a fault, courageous, kind, giving, loving, creative, talented, and a fabulous cook and baker. Our fellow blogger is a charming hostess, an artist, a gardener and a person who is able to turn lemons into lemonade and while at it, has the ability to transform the concoction into a terrific cocktail. This energetic lady has more hobbies and interest than anyone I ever never met! Her growth as a writer is well documented. Her raw talent evolved as she grew and stretched and challenged herself as a writer here, on thoughts, all before our very eyes.

My friend is a courageous soul and one of the wittiest people I have ever never officially met. Her dry sense of humor gets me every time! The comments she leaves on various post around this little community are priceless, funny, inspiring, sympathetic as well as encouraging.

An astute businesswoman she created and ran multiple successful businesses along side her husband, someone she has adored most of her life. Their tender love story is another story!

Gus is quite remarkable himself and may I add, happens to be a member here as well.

Never have I ever encountered a more loving caregiver (other than Circe when their situations were reversed, and that's another story) than this self-effacing man who has accomplished so much in his own rite. He devotedly remained at her side 24/7 throughout her arduous ordeal always on hand to offer encouraging words. Once in awhile she was the one lifting him and everyone else up. Gus and Circe a quintessential team, have always been there for each other!

If anyone thinks I have a lot of stories, you should talk to them. In good times and in bad, together they not only survived they thrived whenever life threw them a curve ball. This wonderful couple certainly was on the receiving end of more than their share of calamities and crisis. Loosing everything they owned in tragic fires several times never deterred them for a second because they were just grateful to be alive, moving forward one step at a time and they are still doing it. Both of them are an inspiration to me.

Circe hardly ever complained all throughout her illness. Although she endured many tests and suffered endless pain, she constantly sung the praises of her kind and dear doctors and nurses, even though they poked and prodded their model patient on a regular basis and hooked her up to so many machines she could barely maneuver. Talk about a person with a lot of connections! Always brave, Circe was unbelievably positive, and naturally scared although she never wavered in her belief that she was going to win the battle of her life, while some of us were not so sure. My pal actually tried to cheer me up whenever we'd speak. In her true fashion, after she lost her hair, instead of complaining or feeling sorry for herself, she simply donated it to

Locks of Love

To say I am more than thrilled to see her on the streets of thoughts gracing us with her presence is an understatement!

Oh geez, I'm commenting on a comment now! Well, okay, roe's comment(s) has to be the longest on record and I did kinda get mesmerized by it.

Circe - I, for one, would love to hear a little more about your illness. Not because I am being nosy, but because I know you have gone through an awful lot and yet you have survived with a smile on your face. Too often these days we read of people with illnesses like yours and we are literally scared to discuss it. Your determination, faith and success in adversity has really helped me to be less afraid. I was thinking about you this morning, cause if the sale of this house goes through and we manage to buy the cottage, I can have hens in the orchard - can you imagine? Thanks for the inspiration and the ability to go through all you have with the kind of dignity which leaves me in awe. God bless
