Presumably we are all adults in here. I mean we are discussing adult subjects for the most part.
In my male dominated, victorian influenced, and classic literature educated society, which is anyone who went to school pre 1970 and paid attention in class.
A stand up man does just that, he stands up for what he believes in. No excuses, no whining, take it on the chin.
And now,we women can have the same honor. And it is honor I am talking about.
Read classic literature to understand what society admires in human behavior. It has not really changed all that much.
And if you haven't done so, give yourself that gift, it is never too late to learn how to stand up and walk like a wo/man.

Hey, I was on a tear. Okay, not all classic novels are about honorable men,or women. I did in fact read Wuthering Heights, The picture of Dorian Grey and Les Miserable, long ago, not the movie. Proves I had a lot of time on my hands or something. But I do think that a little light reading of Kipling and Tennyson won't hurt anyone.
