Okay, so I spent alot of the afternoon with David, and despite the fact that he was asleep for the most part of it, and quite out of it, he did know I was there, so it was worth it. He held onto my hand from the moment I arrived and didnt give it back until I came to leave. I didnt mind - my hand is at home when my fingers are entwined with his, its where they belong.
He's doing okay. Its good for him to be sleeping, because it means he is not hurting, and thats the most important thing.
I am a strange sleeper. I have this awake/dream state I sometimes go into, where I am neither fully awake nor fully asleep. Its possible to have conversations with me, but they make no sense, because I respond with totally irrelevent comments. My family have been deeply amused by this over the years, mostly because I tend to do it when I am drunk more than anything.
Okay...examples of this are
Mum: Are you awake Heidi?
My response: Donkey's come from Spain, you know
Mum: Do you want a drink?
My response: I'll have six apples, ten dollars and a unicycle
Freaky shit, lol...
I mention this because thats what David's current state reminds me of. He is mumbling words that make no sense in a sentence, only having the occasional moment of clarity, when he asked how I was and how Stan was doing, though he was unable to stay awake for my response. Tomorrow they are gonna try and bring him out of it a little, cause they dont want to leave him like this for too long. A couple of days, and he will be moved to the private hospital, where he can just rest and know he wont be kicked out for the bed.
So I talked to my mum tonight regarding the other issue and I took a test, which came back positive. However I know from past experience, those things can lie, so I am going to see a doctor, to confirm. As soon as David is more alert, I will bring him up to speed. However for now, it remains a possibility only...we shall see.
And if I am pregnant, how will I feel? Happy, very happy. Sure, it was definitely not planned, but the finest things in this life never are...we would make it work.
But like I say...for now its still just speculation.
When I went to leave tonight, I leant in to give him a kiss on the cheek and he held my hand a little tighter and pulled me in and kissed me properly. He simply said "I'm sorry, I love you. Take it easy, no stress, you hear?"
I told him I loved him too and came home, leaving him in the land of nod once more.
So I'm alright, and he is okay, so all is...okay!
I will go back tomorrow, and with any luck he will be much more coherent and alert, and I think I will take Stan the man to see his daddy...

In honour of my darling, for each post until he is back and blogging himself, I will attach one of his/my/our favourite songs, with the story behind it, if there is one. Tonights is 'No Promises' by Shayne Ward (aaah, we love him :-)). When we met, I was obviously with someone, and in a way, so was David. So we couldnt make any 'promises' to each other. We knew we wanted to be together, but neither of us could make any guarantees. This song seemed to explain how we were both feeling at the time very well, so here it is.... |

Cheb, I am so glad he is doing well, and I am so glad you are doing well too. Your Mum is a great help to you & Young Stanley, and I'm glad she's there to help you....

Hope your day is fantastic, and I look forward to Harold's return.
But I must say I'm really enjoying your updates. At this rate you're going to get to the 100post for Dave :)

Is it too soon to say congrats? I know your going to go to the doctor but I've got a feeling here with you just having a baby and all.
