 BRITISH SUMMERTIME....A HAHAHAHAHAHA....

So I had to laugh today when I noticed on my calendar that next weekend British Summertime begins. That means that having put our clocks back an hour last October, we are now going to put them forward an hour (could someone please explain the logic??).

What made me laugh was that the words 'British' and 'Summertime' just dont fit together. My dad used to say the UK has 3 months winter, and 9 months bad weather, and I'd say thats pretty accurate!

To be fair, summer 2006 was a corker, the hottest on record. But last year it started raining heavily (and I mean HEAVILY) in April, and it never stopped until winter hit us in November. We had no summer whatsoever. The only reprieve I had was a couple of weeks in July when I went up to Newcastle, an odd place that seems to have its very own weather. You watch the forcast and everything sideswipes Newcastle.

So, as I sit here at 9.24 on a Saturday morning, watching the snow fall outside (and picking up quite a pace) I cant help but wonder if we will have a summer at all this year again. I have literally forgotten what summer feels like.

If this is global warming...I dont know what all the fuss is about...

Peace and love from the floating glacier that is The United Kingdom :-) xxx

oh yeah, and...19 days!!!

Hi Cheb -- Spring is hiding here also ... we received about 8-10 inches of snow last evening here in Michigan, USA. If you find Spring send her over my way. We switched to DST several weeks ago. All about more hours of evening daylight and since I'm not a morning person I'm most grateful. Even with the weather I know it's Spring and Summer in your heart with so many exciting happy things happening in your life. Peace and Love To You.

I'm so tired of wind and rain, but hey I live in Wales. lol

I did read in the paper the other day that the met office have forcast that we will be back to having our normal UK summer this year whatever the hell that is? But, that they are also making plans for flooding, so basically were going to have last years summer? I think I'm just going to go abroad.
