I've made a new friend.
I've only met him once, about 4 weeks ago, through a friend. He lives a plane ride away but we've been texting each other a lot and it seems to be growing into something. But I'm not sure - it's hard to tell over text isn't it. He says stuff that makes me think he fancies me but I could be reading into it too much. I guess when we see each other agian I'll get a better idea. He want's to come and visit.

I know it sounds positive but I have some reservations:
First, our mutual friend. He doesn't know we're texting each other so much and when he heared that we had text 4 weeks ago he said it was weird so I haven't mentioned it to him at all;
Second, he used to be a big drinker. It used to get him into a lot of trouble with fights and the police and stuff. He spent some time in rehab and became a Christian and doesn't get drunk anymore. That's great but it just concerns me a bit because I have a small problem in that area too;
Third, I don't want relationships just because it's better than being lonely. I'd much prefer to have many good friends than a relationship with a guy I'd never see cos he lives quite far away.

Looking back at my previous mistakes this guy is the best person that I could potentially get involved with (compared to the others) but still, thats not a good enough reason is it.
