 Another milestone...
Okay...I am officially over half way done with my storykeep project!!!    I have completed 6668 stitches out of 13158, which works out to 50.6% complete. I am so doing a happy dance...tomorrow...since I am still way too tired and sore from my 15 hour overnight shift that I worked last night.

I got in at 8pm and didn't leave until 11:15am this morning. Now...this was the week that I was supposed to get my holiday from July 4th, so I am only supposed to work 4 days or 36 hours. After only 3 days, I am at 39 hours, with one more shift on Friday. Plus, my boss actually asked me to come in on my day off and promised to add the holiday to the end of my vacation in August. I think that I should get that anyway since I worked a full week's worth of hours (sometimes it does not work out in your favor being on salary). Since I am just beat, I don't think I'll be able to make it in on my day off...

Needless to say, I was only able to put in about 200 stitches today. I considered doing more since I am not very likely to fall asleep for another hour or so at least, but even my fingers are sore from working so much. I have to say, I just don't think I was cut out for so much physical labor. If I could just be one of those lazy managers that sits in an office or walks around "checking in" with everyone instead of working along side the team to contribute, I think my body would be much happier. Of course...I can't stand people like that, so I guess I'll just have to live with the aches and pains, and save the stitching for another day.

I am only 230 stitches away from finishing column 2 on page 2, so I should have that completed by tomorrow. It still just blows my mind that she is stitching up so beautifully. The pictured I have posted recently just don't really so her justice because they turn out a little dark in some areas where the shading is just stunning. I am so anxious to finish her and then compare the finished product to the picture. Except for the fact that I made that little goof on page one so that her hair has more brown than black, she really looks just like the picture when you hold her back a little. I am definitely leaning towards having her framed unless it turns out to be too expensive.

I have spent a lot of time this week on the HAED Official BB looking at the works in progress (WIP) gallery. I think that is my favorite part about that site, seeing what everyone else is working on. I see a lot of things that I personally would not stitch because they are not something I would want to hang up on my walls (just not my taste) but I love seeing them stitched. There are so many wonderful HAED charts out there, and I love seeing the variety out there that are being stitched. I love it when I post my WIP pic and get a bunch of comments about how great it looks. I mean, of course that's what people say because what else would you say, but just knowing that other people are looking is very exciting. And seeing what everyone else is working on inspires me to want to stitch more and get further on my own project so that I can post it in the finished works gallery (which I also visit regularly, although there is often a large gap between the pics posted there). It's just a lot of fun.

I think I found a quick stitch (QS) chart that I will stitch for my boyfriend's nephew who was just born. It's a dragon pirate, really cute, and I think it would be a fun thing to stitch that I wouldn't have to finish any time in the near future since he's still a newborn and won't be able to appreciate it for several years yet. I'll see if I can post a picture of the one I am thinking of. I still haven't decided which QS chart I want to start for myself. I found several that I really like and it's turning out to be almost as hard as deciding which large chart (or charts) to start. But...there I go again getting way ahead of myself. I have to finish what I am working on first, and I have resolved to only have one large HAED chart going at a time, with one on deck, because then I might be able to finish one in my life-time. Having one lined up to start afterwards should inspire me to work faster and stay motivated, since (as you can probably tell) I a m always thinking about what I will be working on next. It gives me something to look forward to.

I think I have probably gone on long enough. It's time to check out that WIP gallery to see if anything new has been posted...
