HEAVENLY AUNT - HEAVENLY UNCLE
Aunt Loretta is Granny’s eldest of girls
And she’s the smartest, wisest, and prettier than pearls
Sometimes when I feel life is being unfair
I can count on my Aunt Loretta and Uncle Eddy to be there
When I was in the hospital with a collapsed lung
I felt it was unfair because I was so young
But just when I felt my life was in doom
My Uncle Eddy and Aunt Loretta walked into my room
Only God knows how I was sick, like giving up
So I thanked him for sending my Aunt and Uncle to show up
Aunt Loretta and Uncle Eddy’s presence made me feel whole
I love them with all my heart – I love them with all my soul
They have a beautiful daughter, my cousin, Diane
She paints and draws better than I ever can
It was a secret when I was little, how I loved Diane so
Her beautiful French accent and her eyes made me glow
Although what really makes me tingle and feel like jelly
Is Aunt Loretta’s little grand daughter – Her name is Kelly
My Aunt and Uncle are so beautiful to me
They’re gifts from God – which I can sure see
If they pass before me, that’ll be my personal 9-11
But I know when I go, they’ll be waiting for me in heaven
