 Vitamins and Supplements
One avenue I've decided to use to fight this beast is through vitamins, supplements, and my diet. I've spent weeks researching and talking to various people and have tailored plan that I think will work for me.  I think it's impossible to say, "oh, you did that, I'll do that exactly too". We all have so many different likes and dislikes and getting on the whole veggie kick for me is particularly hard with my aversion to vegetables. But I think I've put together my own plan that I hope and pray works for me. My basic diet revolves around a 70% RAW DIET and 30% healthy cooked diet. In addition, I've made these changes...

1) I'm taking a multi vitamin daily (as I always have) and added additional vitamin C, E. B.
Hardest Part: I am swallowing so many pills (daily) between my chemo prescriptions and these vitamins that I gag! All mental right?
2) I have cut ALL refined sugar out of my diet (including dark chocolate)
Hardest Part: I eat a piece of candy or cookie after every meal. When I say I have a sweet tooth. I HAVE a sweet tooth. I've supplemented with various fruits and Guava nectar (Thank A.B!)
3) No more red meat. Limited white meat.
Hardest Part: I love red meat! Single tear.
4) More nuts.
Hardest Part: Not too hard. Problem is they can't have salt on them. Bummer!
5) 2L of water a day.
Hardest Part: Remembering to drink that much water a day.
6) Less Dairy
Hardest Part: I LOVE cheese

Also, basically anything white is cut out. Bread, pasta, cookies, etc.(easier said than done) Did you know that if you put a grain of white rice in a cup of water it will rot. If you put a grain of brown rice in a cup of water it will grow. Imagine the differences that occur in your body.

Do I think it will "cure" all of my cancer. No. Do I think it will assist my body in fighting off this disease. Absolutely. We'll see how these changes go. At the very least, these changes should help my body with the damage the chemo is known to be doing to my healthy organs.

So if you're out to dinner with me, or invite me over for a snack, I apologize if I don't gobble something down. Trust me, I want to. But I've gotta keep this up.
One day I WILL have that nice fillet and garlic mashed potatoes with a fat slice of chocolate cake for dessert, but today and tomorrow, my body is in cancer fighting mode!!!!

Cheers (red wine),
Erika

I agree with Nanahart, we should all be eating so healthfully. I'm allergic to red wine, so I'll cheer you back with a cup of fruit juice!

I think we all need to encourage our immune systems at the moment with so many 'flu's around. I could be vegetarian as I love them the most but it's dairy I would find difficult to give up. I love butter - I know, I know, but I do. There were nice prayers for you on Saturday morning in my wee part of the world. E x

hello Erika.
Been off site for awhile, and when I checked in found that there was a msg. in my "box" regarding YoU <3 as recommended reading ;)
...so, I've been trailing your posts for just a minute...
You transcend.
Inspire.
Delight.
and make my heart feel happy.

in addition to what you're doing, you could check out "alkalizing" (where the body's pH is brought to a highly Basic state; food-specific). In theory, cancer cells cannot survive in such an environment.
you also seem to be the kind of spirit/soul who might benefit from reading a little on Metaphysics :)

-hope ur feeling better At This Moment
