 Home Sweet Home

We returned home last night from quite possibly the most beautiful wedding I’ve ever attended with undoubtedly the most gorgeous bride in the world (okay, I’m biased!)

I was able to make it to Indianapolis on the plane. Fortunately, I was able to keep everything in my stomach until I landed and got to a toilet. Unfortunately I was physically extremely uncomfortable for the next few days. I had extreme abdomen pains and was consuming less than 100 calories each day. I felt drained with shortness of breath. But I was so grateful to be around those who cared so much for me and took unbelievable care of me. I was thrilled to be doing all of the pre-wedding “things” with Danah and wished my energy level was as high as my excitement level.

The wedding was perfect. Not a single hitch. I had a lot of fun. I danced! It was wonderful to be celebrating with my mom, husband, and all of the wonderful people that are a part of Danah and Steve’s life. It reminded me of the joy that is all around us in our lives. I’m hoping that someone will e-mail me so pictures so I can post them! Honestly, a breath-taking wedding.

The bride and groom are off on their honeymoon and I returned last evening to crash in my own bed. Unfortunately, I didn’t sleep well last night and I’m headed into the hospital to see my doctor after school to get blood work and x-rays on my abdomen.

I wish that someone knew what exactly was wrong. Clearly this is all a complication of my cancer, but I wish there was a magic pill that made me feel better and made this all go away.

I’m exhausted mentally and physically from this disease and it made me sad that I wasn’t totally “myself” this weekend.

I’ll keep you posted on what the doctor says today. Hopefully, I just need a really good night’s rest and it’s nothing serious! I PRAY!

Thank you everyone for your continued support… what an exhausting journey!

I'm soo glad you got to go to the wedding. And that you were able to fly, driving, even if just a passenger, is enough to wear a person down. Take care this week. And yes prayer for you! Hope your visit goes well, and you get that MAJIC PILL.

You are such a sweetheart, being able to tell us all how beautiful the bride was and how perfect the wedding, when all the time you were feeling so awful. I do pray that they will find out what is causing it and deal with it - you just don't deserve this. I look forward to seeing the pics and to hearing you write to tell us you are feeling better.

So happy you had a wonderful weekend. I was concerned when I did not see a blog here from you, I had read where you were going to the wedding but thought perhaps you had cancelled when you were sick. Sooooo I am so happy to know that I was just a worry wart!!! Prayed for you by name in Mass this weekend! Such a beautiful woman you are Erika!!!

No one would ever have known you were in so much pain at the wedding. You were beautiful, as was the bride (I'm a little biased myself). Nobody expected you to be the Energy Queen, everyone was just glad you were there and able to enjoy it all. And your toast to the couple was great. Hoping the doc can make it all better!
