Inside I am a different person

A different shape and form

Improved by the past

And all of its mistakes

A little wiser now, fresh and re-made

Seeing the world thru different eyes

Although still the same

But seeing right thru the lies

Leaving only the truth to remain

Sun shining brighter than I’ve ever seen

Life seems so much more clear

Every day, more and more

Difficult to believe a time so bad

Created this time so good

I think now I’d do it again

To gain what I have gained

I WOULD.

I wonder if what I have now

Is even what I deserve

Is it a reward

I remain so unsure

Trying to forgive myself

For things I’d rather not say

Trying hard to love myself

Accept such wonderful days

It would be so easy to just lean back

Letting the happiness in

Somehow that is the most difficult

thing to understand
