Thanks for the kind thoughts. I definately agree with you that insurance companies have some items that need legal consideration in the form of a class-action lawsuit to rectify. There are some companies out there that will take care of you but I still don't know how to separate them from the others. I know they have to make money to stay in business; I'm not sure what the balance is to ensure profitability but with the record profits reported every year in the billions of dollars, it's clear to me that they are making decisions purely on greed than on running an ethical and modest to above average profitable business. Thanks for your kind words. What has troubled me the most and leaves me deeply upset is the fact that I've been paying home insurance for 10+ years and when something finally does happen, I'm left with the simple response: that's not covered. What *IS* covered by home insurance??? (BTW: I do have a special binder on my home insurance plan that I pay extra to cover flood damages/sewer backup/water damages as well but it turns out they cover superficial damages which are not very expensive e.g. they'll cover drywall damage but not framing damage, etc.) (posted in Our home disaster by Mother Nature)
Don't get me wrong, kids can be stressful too but from my experience, they can also relieve so much stress. What it would be like to be a kid again and to be fascinated by everything, that really astonishes me that he can be fascinated by a new toy, it's almost like adults take these things for granted - I mean I do appreciate when I get something new that's fun but I certainly don't have the flare of a 3 year old :) (posted in Our son's first month)
