I know you are a truthful person.
Sometimes our insecurities cannot tell when someone is telling the truth.
Our insecurities believe it is a lie, even when it is the truth.
I think you have to really get to know some-one before you can tell the difference.

My suggestion is wait until they are old enough to understand.
Answer their questions then.
Never lie to them, try to be as honest as you can without hurting them too much.
You seem like a great Dad.
If you respect them, they will respect you.
