 Beer Suggestions :)

Now, I don’t think of myself as a big drinker. I do enjoy having a beer every now and then; glass of wine or of course some fruity girly cocktail. I have to say I do enjoy beer, and always love going to new cities to try different tastes, usually from the local brewery.

This weekend for the 4th, I’m headed to friends for a BBQ. (Heather I finally get to eat some BBQ) Any who, I asked her if I could bring anything and she said that they were going to have a beer tasting, so bring my favorite beer or perhaps a beer I’ve never tried before. Now, I have to say this sounds like tons of fun, but I need some suggestions! Do any of you have a particular type or favorite beer? I’m trying to find something out of the norm from the usual “Bud Light, Budweiser, Miller, Coors?).

We have a beer here in KY, the land of bourbon called Kentucky Bourbon Ale. Now I’m not a fan of bourbon, but the beer is brewed in the bourbon barrels, and it’s absolutely delicious! Its definitely one of my options but I was hoping that maybe you all could help me out!

So, beer suggestions anyone?

I look forward to hearing what your preference of a “cold one” is!

Happy Hump Day everyone!!

I always love to go with a locally brewed beer. If you go to a local pub they can sell you some to share as well, they just might not bottle it.

A favorite import of mine is New Castle. I usually try a different beer everytime I drink so I can play around with the flavors! A lot of people like IPA's (India Pale Ale's) but I do not. They are VERY hoppy.

Have a blast.

1) Hoegardten Belgium Ale, 2) Magic Hat # 9, 3) Sierra Nevada India Pale 4) Blue Moon (my fave) 5) any Heffeweizen (although my favorites include Paulaner and Hackerschorr), 6) Stella Artois.

I can go on and on and on...

I'm and MGD man myself but I have to agree with wraithwriter - Blue Moon's a good choice. So are any of the other moon's - Harvest Moon, etc.

BRCG,

An old party favorite of mine is - "Old Leghumper" ... I have only seen it in Pennsylvania though.

It is an average beer, but it is always a hit at parties, everybody wants to taste it and talk about it all night.

Another idea is to go to a liquor store that will let you mix and match a case of beer, and pick one of each different beers; it may cost a bit more, but its ideal for a beer tasting party.

Circe, you're my kind of woman! That's my favorite beer, and usually is ALL I drink. My friends make fun of me, saying that I'm drinking Mexican water! LOL. They just don't know what they're missing out on!
