 Whoa, a Republican?
The Republican Party was founded in 1854 in Ripon, Wisconsin. As of now, it is the second oldest continuing party after the Democratic Party, which was born in 1792 under Thomas Jefferson and other opponents of the Federalist Party.

The Republicans are in favor of the death penalty; whereas the Democrats are against the death penalty. Why? You can support terminating a life, but what about a choice of a woman that is pregnant by rape?

Republicans are anti-gay. So, is it fitting to remove every gay person from the military, knowing other countries have gays serving in their military?

Republicans have strong beliefs in power, pro family values, against phone sex with subordinates, against prescription drug abuse, and against underage drinking and drug abuse by sons and daughters.

So, as you know, South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford admitted to having an affair on his wife. Why is this huge… good question and I will be more than happy to answer it. As you may recall, this was the Governor that requested Bill Clinton’s impeachment and his resignation as President. “I think it would be better for the country and for (Clinton) personally to (resign). I come from the business side. If you had a chairman or president in the business world facing these allegations, he’d be gone” (1998, then Congressman Mark Sanford). He was also vocal on Congressman Bob Livingston’s affair, a fellow Republican as saying, “The bottom line is … he still lied. He lied under a different oath, and that oath was to his wife” (1998). In 2002, he (Sanford) had a campaign ad running regarding family values, trust, and keeping your word. The question is when you get married, you must marry on trust, honesty, and keeping your word to be faithful to her and only her; or am I missing something? Isn’t it funny how he can call for others to resign and say this is soooo wrong, yet, here we are in 2009 where as he done not only the same, but in another country.

Most tell me, you never know with marriage, however, when one get married, you are married to that person for life and you both have to respect and trust the other would not cheat. If you cheat, what is the purpose of getting married? I had one person that told me, “no one wakes up in the morning and say, umm, I think I will cheat on my spouse.” I told that person that should not be a question because looking on your finger and waking up to that person next to you, should be symbol enough of faithfulness. If you don’t wear your wedding band, then you are just as guilty as being single with confusion of others that may look upon you. This is my opinion.

I wear my wedding ring every single day, my husband does not (because of his profession a ring ((or any jewelry)) is hazardous). I am the one who cheated. Yet it was over 8 years ago in a (now) 13 year marriage. Infidelity can be overcome if the people involved (the husband and wife) WANT to get past it.
The only reason I think he should resign is because he left his state high and dry...not telling ANYONE where he was going to be able to be contacted in case of an emergency...in that regard he failed his state and should be held accountable.

Thank you for your comment free flowing. I don't believe in cheating. If Gov Sanford is going to tell others they should resign and held accountable for their actions, then the same should apply to him.

Held accountable? Sure....but I thought Clinton should have lost his presidency because of the whole Monica-thing, too. I'm just saying that infidelity (whether in the public eye or behind closed doors) shouldn't be the end in "real life" if the people involved (the husband and wife) are both willing to make it work.

Well, I think once you say "I do" to that person, he and she are both obligated to eachother and they both made that vow to be together and not anyone else. I, personally, cannot be with a woman that cheats on me. Everytime we have sex, I would think about how she done me wrong by cheating and it would be hard for me to perform. You sleep not only with him or her, but with everyone else he or she had; and if they have a STD, it is all over with. If a person has to cheat or be with more than one woman or man, then they should not get married. This is just my opinion.

No one should cheat on their spouse bottom line. What makes this man not able to govern is not that he cheated but that he used public money to do so. He also left his post to cheat. That is why he needs to step down.

Well, I feel he need to step down because if he requested Bill Clinton to step down, then he should do so by his same method, correct.
