 GOP and Healthcare
A few months ago Brown said a public option: “is going to kill people.”

One of Brown’s constituent said he could not afford insurance to cover treatment for his major depression disorder. To my amazement, Brown’s response was for him to go to the emergency room. Wait a minute! Emergency Room should be used for emergency situations, not a medication for depression. Later on, Brown said the Emergency Room is the most expensive way regarding healthcare. So why would he pump up the cost of healthcare? The constituent blurted out “That’s why we need a public option.”

Senator Chuck Schumer (D) New York, says Medicare is far more government run than the bill itself (Schumer Bill). He asked Senator Charles Grassley (Rep) Iowa if Medicare is a good program. Senator Grassley said he believes Medicare is a part of a social fabric of America. After forty years, just like Social Security, believes some improvement can happen, but he is in favor of Medicare.

Grassley only want to keep two sources in his head as to why the public option is so bad.
1. Heritage says eighty-three million people are going to be forced out of their plan into the public option.
2. Luen group says one-hundred twenty million people will be forced out. Luen group is owned my United Healthcare (UNC) whom spent million of dollars opposing the public option.

Isn’t it funny that Republicans admits to opposing the public option plan because it might get popular, which means the private insurance companies cannot get rich.

I agree with the Senator from Florida who said that the Republican's answer to health care reform is don't get sick.

Classic example of when you can't dispute the truth, change the subject and attack the messenger.

I agree also. During this whole debate, I have seen nothing concrete from the Republicans, yet they are so much into the security of Medicare, which is government ran.

ahhh now I understand - another true blue Illinois person...sure you're proud of the "great salesmen/women" = the three stooges [sorry don't mean to insult the stooges

parott07, you commented on my other post about the log in one's eye. How can you critize me or another person when you know we are providing facts? These facts comes from Political news and or papers.

Just like Bush, having troops in Iraq during 9/11 when Iraq had NOTHINIG to do with 9/11. That war was pointless as others follow politics, what was the war in Iraq about since you feel we don't have good information?

Seems like the only stooges are the Republicans because they don't have an answer for healthcare. They are always talking about family values, yet they cheat on their wives. They talk about other resigning office, yet they don't want to resign when caught in the act. They want to talk about Obama lying after he put out the facts, yet they lie themselves talking about he (Wilson) was an immigrant attorney, when he was ONLY a real estate attorney. They want to say god spoke to them and keep the rich more rich, when Jesus said not to store up treasure on earth, but in heaven. All the evidence points to the GOP party, so how can you say we have the nerve to scream tell the truth? Whom are the liars now?

I went to the CircleK, like I always do, before work. One of the clerks I befriended, a single father of a 10-year-old daughter, had no health insurance because he could not afford it. He had a mild heart attack about three months ago, but was not getting treatment because he said he couldn't afford it. He already was trying to pay for his hospital stay. I went into the store the other day, and there on the counter was a photgraph album of him that read, "In Memory of Scott." He had his second heart attack that proved to be fatal. I cried all the way to work. About 44,000 Americans die each year because they cannot afford health insurance. That translates into about 4,000 deaths a month. I used to be a registered Republican, but reregistered two months ago as a Democrat. I am so angry and frustrated with the GOP, who have become so extreme and so out of touch.

LookForTruth, I can understand and I am sorry to hear about Scott. We can just pray for his family, but hopefully, other families will wake up as well. It is very sad of how Americans are. It reminds me of King Kong. Americans go to different lands and get the unique animal. Once the animal release himself on instinct, then others want to kill him for being HIS nature. It is something like a parable I guess.

Unfortunately, experiences can be bad, but hopefully, we all can learn from them. Being a man of Christ, is never easy. At times, one is under a lot of persecution, but if I must suffer to obtain everlasting life, so be it.

Thank you for your comment LookForTruth. I wish you Peace and Happiness

LookForTruth, I am sorry to hear about Scott. Your sharing provides evidence that the lack of health insurance involves real people, real families, and human lives. That is something that the Republicans do not seem to want to admit. By fault finding with everything the current administration does, they are biting off their nose to spite their face. I have yet to hear one address health care reform with compassion for human lives. As the Senator from Florida said, the Republican answer to health care reform is don't get sick.
