(It's probably been said more than enough times before, but)It seems once again the government "needs" our hard earned money(whether you work hard or not). They mention yet another hike in "energy costs" already on top of the cost of gasoline and whatnot. Said to expect another $4 a month on the electric bill alone. I've also heard rumor of an increase in the sales tax. I have coworkers complaining about being able to pay back rent.
Who was it here who was talking about Marxism? The poor working mindlessly to feed the rich?
And, I can understand if the government needed a little support for a moment. You know when that friend asks you for a loan and you start to wonder if they will ever pay you back? Yea. How many think the sudden rise in the electric bill will ever drop back down? Wouldn't it be a delightful surprise if the bills were dramatically lower? Oh, the blessings of efficiency and a benevolent society. Or, should I just say "keep dreaming"?
It might be old news, but it just seems a tad more sour on the eve of what's supposed to be a happy holiday. I can't seem to see any joy in fireworks lately.
[Add to this a horribly short-staffed day at work today which pushed the stress tolerance to the max.]
Happy Fookin' Independence Day(or Happy Fookin' Fourth of July) Friday, People.
[At least to those of us in the US of A(the Uncertain Service of Aristocrats).]
