Pretty unique and expressive. :D Good work. What brought this on?

Don't stop.

(Do stop with the red and it is my favorite color but.... I felt I was on a strange acid trip while reading that. My eyes are bleeding.)

But if you dont do at least one of these, what do you have left to do?

What brought this on were the recent chats I had had with certain members here and some other experiences/thoughts swirling in my head. It is about the tug-of-war between fear and courage. Between denial and acceptance. Between restraint and experimentation. Between ignorance and lessons learned. There is a great pressure--I find--between not doing something either out of discipline or fear and leaping over the cliff into full-on doing whatever the heck we feel like and accepting whatever benefits and consequences come with those decisions.

I must also say I am not sure this "poem" is perfected yet. It lacks some flow to a few edges. I will say more about that in a bit.

It is in red because that is the primary color of the DON'T sign/s and--if this were my good ol' black backdrop from Thoughts Beta, it would look much sharper. Sorry for the bleeding eyes. Do remember to blink and keep them hydrated:)

As for that bit I just mentioned...Dear Smiles:), (pats you on the head)I think you took it all so literally as a list of DON'Ts instead of a progression(in cycles). One DON'T leads to others/another. If you don't run, you are less likely to fall and in turn less likely to learn what it is like to get hurt...an experience. It's sort of like those analogies we get on SAT/ACT tests. Apple is to Orange and all that jazz:)

But, you're right--though the list is probably far from absolute. If we do none of those things...what is left to fill this existence we call life? Not much. Just another river of thought into understanding what it really is we are on this planet for other than to take up space and make waste.

"There is a great pressure--I find--between not doing something either out of discipline or fear and leaping over the cliff into full-on doing whatever the heck we feel like and accepting whatever benefits and consequences come with those decisions."

The progression of the poem was very thought-provoking and your follow-up comments have a great deal of merit. From the time most of us are toddlers we are constantly flooded with DON'T messages that no doubt shift the internal compass we're given at birth and keep us living in a subconscious fear to a certain degree.

Oddly enough, I like the red. I have a soft purple background and the color forces me to intentionally concentrate on each word. I had to work to take it in and it was worth the effort.

I agree with that black back drop or background. I just wrote a post about that earlier.

I am looking for the one blog you mentioned, but this one caught my eye. Why so many don'ts? If this is what you will not do, where are the things you will do? What is left?

Maybe you need to reread the comments:P I thought I explained it. This was at a time when it seemed like doing anything was wrong. I was mad.
