Seems you are clinging to a wish while lingering in nowheresville. What you once had/felt seems like some sort of champagne cork popping. Love at first sight that quickly faded. Like two people simply jumped at an impulse...and then wonder why they did it later. Obviously, he is not too...

You paint a simple story so well. I can picture every moment. Yellow walls with traces of flowers like this post backdrop. People muttering til you walk in the room and then giving you ugly stares in silence. The BBQ and all the steaming grills and music and people on the lawn in the spotted...

Heart-warming with rays of sunshine I can see through the window by which you sit writing. Lovely picture, as well. I never felt able to face what you are facing right now. I shrank from it just as you shrink from socializing(which I do as well).

Well, if you ever want to talk about it, N~, my one and only window is almost always open. When I'm not throwing something through it because someone upset me again. Yea, lots of duct tape on my window. No obscurity. If there is any deception, I am ashamed of myself.

I sure hope not all therapists are textbook junkies. I agree with most of what you presume to know. But, if I was ever able to be a therapist, I'd hope to be able to think outside the box and not be forced...

That's another issue that seems endless in this world. Image. Can talk all day about it. But, is it going to change? Looks are part of nature. And, animals respond accordingly. We ought to remind ourselves of what other animals do. Then it won't seem so harsh or strange.
