While capping off another disgruntling work day, here are some random thoughts for the day 1-6-09...
1)It sucks struggling with the smallest of decisions. And, it can happen so randomly(like this post). I can be getting dressed for work(or walks) and get lost deciding what to wear. Or, looking in my food pantry/cabinet and deciding what to eat. [Do you ever have a moment when you say, "No. Not that. I want to save that for later/something special." or "Not that, again."?] Or, what about that note or trinket sitting somewhere that catches your eye, and--BAM!--you get hypnotized looking at it. And, then you look at the clock and realize you are running late.
2)It's strange living in a generally cold winter climate(-10 to 30 degrees average) and turning the heat on only to wake feeling weaker against the cold than when the heat isn't on and I simply adapt to the cold/ambient temperature. What's up with that??
3)What about listening to the radio and then trying to relay the funny/shocking/sad thing/s you heard to people who don't listen to that station. [Or, radio at all. Does anyone still listen to the radio in this age of mp3 mania?] The world feels a bit more lonely when you can't share this stuff like I did in the 80's when all us kids listened to one station. It's like you are talking and no one can hear you. It's about as bad as being misunderstood. And, that is one terrible feeling.
Oh, and...
Happy Dia de los Reys!
...to all the Spanish folks and enthusiasts out there. It's the day of the three kings/wisemen arriving with their gifts for the baby Jesus. A big hoopla in Spain.
