A Pizza Gorge-asm
"Guaranteed to make you go 'Yyyes!...Yes!...Ooh!...Yes!...Yes!...oOH!...oOH!...Oooh!... ...I'll have what HE's having' in 30 minutes or less. Or, your money back." :P

There are two forces in the universe of food that drive me crazier than most. One is chocolate. [Chocolate bars, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate ice cream/milkshakes, etc. But, particularly chocolate pudding.] The other is tomato sauce. [Ketchup and spaghetti(sauce) being secondary.] And, the number one use for tomato sauce is my all-time favorite social and versatile food...

Pizza.
The spices in the sauce.
Garlic.
Oregano.
Basil.
Savoring the flavors.
Sweet and a little spicy.
The tingle on the lips and tongue.
The texture of the crust.
Thick and bready deep dish or crispy and thin pan.

The richness of the cheese.
Colby.
Monterey Jack.
Cheddar.
Swiss.
Feta.
The toppings.
Tender, spicy pepperoni.
Savory sausage.
Crisp green peppers and (Red--technically purple) onions.
Hot yellow peppers.
Chewy mushrooms.
Canadian bacon.
Ham.
Pineapple.
(BBQ) Chicken.
You name it; you can put just about anything on a pizza.
You can even eat it cold, and it still tastes good.
So many styles.
Classic pepperoni.
Extra cheese.
Three cheese.
Meat lovers.
Deluxe(or supreme) with the works.
Hawaiian style.
Chicago.
Mexican.
Gyro(an awesome Greek style found at Shakey's).
Veggie lovers.
Margarita/Margherita.
Marinara.
Cheeseburger.
Stuffed crust.
Philly cheese-steak.
Scottish deep-fried.

And, if that isn't enough to get your mouth watering, check out these hot, tasty samples. Masterpieces of pizzadom.

A pizza "gorge-asm"(or "gorge-gasm") sure to make you want to have a "gorgy".
Not only one of the greatest foods ever invented but also probably the best way to share conversation.
It's not something you eat with a tie jabbed up around your throat.
You eat it leisurely--if not wildly--in your most comfortable, casual clothes. [Although, a dinner date with pizza is not a bad way to go either. You just can't worry if you get a little sauce on yourself.]

That's why they even have pizza PARTIES.
When you make a pizza with your own hands, it's like a work of art.
You put your heart into it.
[The magic is in the sauce.]

Care to join me for a few slices?
Or, be sure to pick up some in your own time.
Eat out/in, take out or delivery(can even order online now).

Make your own(like Kramer on Seinfeld--even if you want to use cucumber)homemade or frozen. [But, never freeze a homemade pizza. It doesn't taste the same when you thaw it out.]

If you can't fit a pizza into your "diet", get outta mya face!

How do you like YOUR pizza?

If you want to try something simpler/different, my family has been making small pizzas with tortillas and english muffins for years. If we didn't have pepperoni, we would use summer sausage and/or balogna.

[Let me just say one other thing about pizza. It's all about chemistry. Flavors working together to make an ultimate combination. Otherwise, it's just something you throw together that usually tastes "bready" and goes down hard with a tastier beverage. And, there is one topping that makes no sense on a pizza for me. Olives. Olives may add color and character, but they are only a source of fats and salts and take more flavor away from a pizza than they contribute. Mushrooms--though they also absorb flavor/salt--have more texture than olives and thus add to the pleasure.]

An excellent treatise on what has become a staple among American meals. I know what I'm having for dinner tonight - - well, maybe not the exact flavor, but my mouth is definitely watering for some pizza. Have you ever tried lobster chunks as a topping? Don't know if that strikes you as sacriligious or adventuresome, but I've had it, and man it is some kind of wonderful!!

I love pizza, but it is strange that I can't eat too much of it. Two slices have already made me very full.

There is a local pizza shop in my area called Johnny Boy Pizza. My husband and I love Johnny Boy's special and the toppings consist of: Shrimps (in Aussie we say prawns, ham, pepperoni, black olives, onion, red peppers and pineapple pieces.

Having pizza for dinner, that's all there is to it! Thanks! My favorite - feta with spinach and White Pizza from Alberto's! Very creative post!

Hmm, prawns or lobster would be interesting--though I have never tried it(so you never know if I'd find it too salty or whatnot). Not sacreligious:P But, questionable. Seafood cooks a bit differently than say pepperoni, so you have to probably bake it a lil more gingerly. Or make it a white pizza(mozz', swiss or provologne...maybe gyro style sauce).

Eww, Gwat! No olives! And, especially not with pineapple and shrimp! That sounds like too many diverse flavors together. Pizza has to have style. A common American deluxe pizza has many colors but a distinct flavor. Pineapple, pepperoni and shrimp all have distinct flavors...it sounds like a traffic jam:P Some things I just do not eat together. Now, pineapple and canadian bacon is okay. Or, again, a white sauce/base pizza with shrimp and pineapple might be okay. But, make sure they are popcorn shrimp(not jumbo).

Hey, Ellie:) I think I have heard of Alberto's! What is your definition of a white pizza? Personally, that is usually sacreligious:P As I am a devoted tomato sauce guy. But, I DID say I liked gyro style pizza--which is a first for me. Feta is rather chalky and salty, so you need a bland base to counter it. I suppose spinach would be interesting. But, I'd probably go with baby swiss and spinach instead with some zesty seasoning or some marinated/pickled cucumber bits thrown on after cooking(so you don't roast the cucumber).

Brainstormer, you should open a Pizza shop!! By the way, why has it to be Canadian bacon? What is wrong with the other bacon?

It's one distant dream of mine, Gwat. I was thinking I'd ask someone like you to open it with me;):P But, alas, you are taken. I'll still keep you in mind as a business partner. Just maybe not my sidekick:P

I found the list of pizza places they mentioned as being the best in the USA on Oprah!

It was:

Ledo's Pizza(Maryland) since the 1950s...wood paneling, mirror walls, square pizzas...they use provologne instead of mozzarella.

Pizza Bianco(Phoenix, Arizona)...owner Chris Bianco...they do not use pepperoni(awh!:O)...Chris makes many of the pizzas himself every day...no take out, no delivery...6 specials including "WiseGuy", "Biancoverde" and "Margharita"...no special orders.

Mariella's Pizza(New York, across from Oprah magazine HQ)

Pizano's(Chicago, Illinois)for thin crust.

Due(Chicago) for deep dish.

Those are all the ones I remembered to write down. Not a great list. But a good one;P
