 A Clockwork Absinthe--Part Two
Part Two

Abby took a moment to strip off her long, black coat and drape it over the back of her chair. She then glanced at the golden face of her wristwatch. Adam noticed the antique-looking wristband made with ivory beads.

"That's an unusual wristband you have there."

"Yes, my grandmother gave it to me."

"You...have to be somewhere soon?"

"Oh," gasped Abby with a silly grin. "No. Not really. I just was checking the time. It slips away from me sometimes."

"What time IS it, anyway? 11: 32? Would you rather we go somewhere else? I was thinking maybe these guys want to close the place for the night. Most restaurants aren't open anymore at this hour. 'Strange that this one was still open."

"Where would we go? And, we just got here. Why not make the most of it?"

"I don't know. Maybe...a sewer tunnel?"

Abby's freckled porcelain face erupted in laughter. As she covered her mouth in embarrassment, Adam started to chuckle, as well. Then Abby noticed a grain of sincerity in her companion's eyes and stopped laughing.

"You're serious. Aren't you. A sewer?"

"I dunno. It's late. Crazy idea maybe. I just though it would be...interesting."

"That it would," smiled Abby before engaging in another moment of silent staring.

"Hey, where's the waiter? Aren't they going to give us a menu?"

The balding host reappeared with lamenated cards in hand.

"Here you go, folks. Though, it is getting late. But, I will keep the kitchen open a while longer...just for you."

"Oh...uh...thanks," muttered Adam.

"Yea...thanks," added Abby before dragging a slender, pale hand down over her right ear, finger-combing the golden strands away from the lobe.

"I'll be back in a few to get your order. My name is Walt."

"Uuuh, Walt?" stumbled Adam.

"Yes, sir?"

"We really don't need to order anything special so late at night. Maybe you could just bring something for the lady and I to drink?"

"Any special request?" asked the host while bowing his head to one side.

"I'm no expert, but maybe..." Adam began before blowing air between his lips and waving his right hand in Abby's direction. "The lady would like some red wine?"

Abby nodded with a smile.

"Very well. I will...pick out a nice vintage for you both."

As Abby said was common for her, time did indeed slip by the next half hour. Just a glass of red wine, and both "strangers in the night" were feeling rather "buzzed". They threw a handful of money on the small red table cloth, grabbed their coats and giggled like potheads as they walked out of the restaurant.

Walt, the host, came along soon after to collect the money and then marched up to the bar to ask the bloated drunkard once more to take himself home.

"SSShe doesn' TALK like that to ME...anymir."

"Sir, we'd like to close. I think you've had enough."

"D-Don' TALK to...ME like ttthAT! I'mm the MAYorrr around here! YYYou don't bosss ME!"

"Yes, sir. And, we have treated you as kindly as humanly possible. But, my staff has waited long enough. If you do not excuse yourself now, we will be forced to take...action."

That last word brought a brief moment of sobriety to the fat man's face. His skin became pale. His eyes glazed over as he looked into the host's probing irises, bearing a hint of red light. Sweat began to bead upon the mayor's fleshy brow.

Walking arm-to-arm down a rain-soaked path, Adam and Abby did not go wandering into a sewer tunnel but instead made their way to a nearby hotel. The tipsy blonde said it was her building and buzzed for the late night security guard who didn't appear but opened the door from the control room upon recognizing the woman in view of the security camera positioned above the door.

It seemed Abby was leading her companion as she dragged him by the arm to the elevator. There she had to ask him twice to enter the slightly shakey box before taking them both to the top floor.

"A penthouse suite?" Adam muttered in a silly tone of voice, still smiling a bit from the wine.

"Heh. Yea, something like that. I walked in one day to get a room, and they just offered it to me. 'Must be my pretty face."

Adam chuckled quietly to himself as he fell against the frame of her apartment door. Abby turned and looked at him curiously as she put her keys on an oak sofa table and clicked the knob of a tall, slender floor lamp.

"Aren't you going to come in? Come on. Don't be shy NOW."

Though the words came as a bit of a surprise, both Abby and Adam cracked silly grins as they stumbled together into an awkward hug and then a gentle second kiss.

"What was in that WINE?" Adam huffed as he reared his head and put a crease in his forehead.

"Mm...I don't know. But, it's having a similar affect on me. Want to make yourself comfortable? I need to put on something lighter. I just feel like the life is being sucked out of me with this heavy coat."

Adam looked around at the assortment of shapely furniture bathed in the floor lamp's soft yellow glow. Red seemed to be a dominant color in the room. He wavered briefly before making his way around the apartment to a king-size bed draped in a silky crimson bedspread with gold tassles dangling along the edge just above the floor. It was rather inviting. Stumbling beside, he sat himself on the edge seconds before Abby waltzed into the room from a nearby walk-in closet. Barefoot and dressed in a silky, black nightgown, she fluffed her long, wavy golden hair and gasped at the sight of her companion sitting on the bed. He had tossed his coat over a chair in one corner and removed his shoes.

"Well,THAT didn't take long," said Abby quite plainly.

"Can you blame me?"

"I guess not. 'You like?"

Following her fingers to the curves of her nightgown, Adam's eyes widenned as he nodded, "Yeah. It's nice."

"Ha. I thought you might like it."

Waltzing to the door where Adam entered, Abby flicked the light switch, leaving only moonlight to drizzle itself across the surfaces in the room. Like magnets, the two flew together atop the bed and locked lips in a series of increasingly heated kisses before Abby fell flat across Adam's chest.

"Did you ever think things would come together on a night like this so fast?" asked Abby with halves of her hair dangling in Adam's face as she lifted her head.

"Mm, I'd be lying if I said yes. But, I had my suspicions tonight."

"Well, Heaven forbid I bore you with chit chat late at night. Shall we just get down to business?"

"I wouldn't have it any other way."

As Abby bit her lip shyly, she and Adam shed the last of their prior bashful inhibitions and began peeling off his clothes two pieces at a time. The cool covers sent shivers up his spine, bringing his "manhood" to attention. Suddenly, he felt Abby's exposed breasts press against his skin. Rock-hard nipples stabbed the sensitive, paling flesh. The moonlight stroked over the curves ever so gracefully, making Adam's mouth water before glancing up into his companion's sparkling eyes. His few chest hairs standing on end trembled feverishly with a mixture of nerves and excitement. The protrusion poking Abby betwen her legs made her quiver as well before making herself comfortable and planting a firm, heated kiss on Adam's parched lips. Like a reflex, his hips jerked forward. And, the dance began. If anyone had good ears, they might have heard Abby's silly wailing. Unable to contain herself, she sat upright and rode the tall, thin man like a mechanical bull with handfuls of chest hair locked firmly between her fingers.

When both had reached the point of needing a second wind, Abby dropped back across Adam's chest and stroked her fingers over his face as she whispered, "Well, that was sure fun. 'Wanna go again?"

[What had happened to the shy, quiet statue of refinement he had just met on the bus?] Admittedly, Adam had had a long day. He was not up to full speed and quickly becoming intoxicated by Abby's dominating presence. He was smitten and finding it difficult to control himself. He had lost control but could still feel that something inside wanting more. Like a wild panther ready to pounce. He just needed a moment to catch his breath.

As a cheerful beep came from her wrist, Abby placed an index finger across Adam's lips and huffed, "Don't answer that. I'll just help myself."

A spark sprung from his chest as the two locked lips once more. The fire engulfed their spirits. They seemed inseparable. One steamy blob of flesh tossing in a sea of passions. And, just as Adam was finding his rhythm, Abby felt something sharp graze her tongue. Adam felt it, as well. But, neither was about to stop and ask questions at this point. Casting a shadow across the wall to her left, Abby reared herself, cackled wildly while tossing her hair side-to-side and then plunged back into the heat of the moment.

Thought this was supposed to be a vampire story? Did I mis-read that somewhere? Regardless, it's interesting. Kept waiting for one to 'attack' the other, although I didn't expect this kind of 'attack' (ha!). Now i gotta wait for the third one to see what happened eh?

Did you not see the mystery of it all?:P YES, it is a very short vampire story(even though I broke this into three pieces. I'm waiting for Sarafeline's input before I reveal the answer:P The "trick" is...who is the vampire?
