| Another Day in the Life |
Last night was Navin's second orchestra performance. This one was a much smaller production. It was held in the neighboring middle school cafeteria. The performance started at 7 with the 7th graders performing a few pieces then the high school orchestra performed 4 pieces. They were all very up beat interesting songs. To Andrew's disappointment he had class so he couldn't be there. I recorded the first song they performed to add on Navin's DVD he is sending his grandfather. Then I just took a bunch of pictures. Navin was very excited that I took pictures and recorded some that when we got home he looked at all of them.
He also cooked dinner again. I had everything out in individual bowls to make Lo-Mein, told him what order to put them in the wok and then left him alone in the kitchen. He thought I was kidding when I walked out of the room. He giggled the whole time. I left him for about 8 minutes. He surprised himself that everything was fine. He forgot to take the shrimp back out of the wok before adding the veg but it was still great. He said "If it's good I'll say it's good. If it's bad I'll say it's good cause I cooked." It was so tasty we all had it for lunch today too.
Tonight I think he was a little disappointed that I had put dinner in the crock pot this morning. I have a feeling he is really getting into us cooking together. (Me giving him enough information and independence to feel kitchen empowered.) Even though he still seemed to enjoy the chicken bog.
Other than that we are just relaxing and having a peaceful quite evening here at home.
