I've been in Boston for half a year. I can't believe it- it flew. How, I wonder, especially when I was a receptionist for more than two months doing virtually nothing for 8 hours a day. But it did pass.
So my time in Boston, summed up:
Living situation~ apartment with a really cool roommate, and despite our ridiculously tiny living quarters we have just enough room to move around. It'd be great to have a living room, or even just an extended hallway to put beanbags, but we don't have that, so we're over it. Usually.
Career situation~I've hopped around to different temping jobs for paychecks, and I've been at BCBS for a month. I hope this will end by May. That would be really nice. Then maybe I can do something that does NOT involve insurance.
Social life~ The friends- and boyfriend- I have are great, and I hope to continue these relationships. I also need to meet more people and go out more often. Not out to bars, but out to group activities- it's the best way to beat loneliness in a city.
Overall health~ I can't believe I don't have a cold. I am healthy.
Oh, and speaking of checkup- could anyone recommend a good dentist in the Boston area? I'm on the green line and the closest stop to me is kenmore. thanks.

Sounds like normal life. You just need to remain positive, and staying away from bars is a good idea. It's not exactly where you meet the most decent people.
