DADDY --
1. Gets up in the middle of the night to sooth a childs nightmares.  Telling them that they have nothing to worry about because Daddy is there to protect them.
2. Works long hours, sacrificing himself so that his child has food to eat everyday even if that means he goes without.
3. Dries his childs tears when they have fallen and scraped their knee.
4.  Plays with them when he comes home after a long days work, even though he would really like to just relax.
5.  While having a bad day, he can think of his childs laugh and it will brighten his day.
6.  Delights in the fact that this child that isn't even his own, calls him Daddy and squeels with delight when he gets home, even if he was only gone for 5 minutes.
7.  Sacrifices something that he really wants or needs so that his child can have a birthday, christmas or even just a pair of shoes.
8.  Worries that someday, the sperm donor will come waltsing back into their lives only to break the childs heart all over again.
9.  Prays that when and if that day comes, the child even though heartbroken will be able to look at him and say thats okay because your my real dad anyway.
10.  The day that they adopt them is just as exciting and heartfelt as it would be had he watched them be born.
11.  Never complains about taking on the responsibility.
12.  Looks forward to the day of giving his little girl away on her wedding day or seeing the love on a sons face as he watches his bride walking down the isle.
13.  Knows that even if things don't work out between the mother and him, he would still pay child support and take care of that child regardless.
14.  Prays with them everynight before bed and tells them that daddy loves them.
15.  Puts action into his promises instead of breaking all of them.
16.  Disciplines when needed.
17.  Has nightmares about losing the child and then when he wakes up from the dream has to go check on them even though he knows they are most likely ok.
18.  Does everything in his power to make sure that the child grows up in a stable, loving home, so that they never deal with the rejection of the real dad.
19.  Loves them unconditionally.
20.  Just being their daddy.

Dead beat dad--
I'm not even going to list anything here, because a dead beat dad doesn't do any of those things above.  They only care about themselves and you don't need a list to know that.  I'm so thankful to have my husband, he is the best father to my girls!
