The building at the corner is the Monte Carlo building ( named after a bar/night club that occupied the base- one of only three night clubs in all Alex in the 60s and 70s ). The building is situated on the other side of the Corniche road, opposite to Casino el Chatby. Monte Carlo restaurant and night club was one of the landmarks of Chatby and Alexandria for decades.Unfortunately it was either mysteriously destructed or burned in the late 80s or early 90s.The place was left in ruins for many years,Recently in 2006,a sea food restaurant [Rakouda] has took its place as can be seen in the 2 presented photos. [ at the Ground zero of the building ].
