New Orleans / The French Quarter - One of the "freeze framers" who work the streets of N'Awlins. This one was a fabulous fairy dressed in red and black. Freeze framers stand perfectly still, statue-like, but sometimes break into motion as part of their act. In this case, when I put a donation into the fairy's old, cracked leather medicine bag, she moved mechanically in my direction, smiled, and dropped a pinch of fairy dust into my outstretched palm. What a thrill that was! I felt like a kid experiencing magic again.
