 Phoenix
Torn in two;
with little faith.
Cover my ears;
seal my fate.
Sorrow filled tears;
behind shattered eyes.
A light from beyond the darkness;
brightens my face.
Releasing the shadows;
from binding my chains.
Igniting the fire with my soul;
to ever burn bright, it explodes.
Engulfing my body;
enticing my senses.
Burst up from the ashes;
Soaring so high.
A streak of fire;
blazing across the darkened sky.

The first half or so is a bit unclear to me. And, the one line "from binding my chains" feels out of place or a bad choice of words. You go from a depressed person in a jail cell or something to a genuine telling of a phoenix rising from the ashes:P Almost right out of XMen(particularly the '92 cartoon). So this is some sort of cry for freedom/redemption?
